Different tailgate for limited and rebel rams vs regular rams

Just noticed today that the tailgate for the rebel and limited AKA the trucks with Ram across the tailgate is different. They have an extra body line at the lower section that the traditional tailgate doesn't have. Cant believe I never noticed before, also am surprised FCA would spend the extra money on new form for a few trucks. Anyone else ever notice that? I want the rebel gate now.

The Rebal gate has another body line, so there are 2 horizontal body lines on the tailgate.
The word Rebal is in the middle of the 2

Hah.....I never noticed that either and I have one. Add Ram Night Edition to this list, mine also has the different tailgate

Honestly, Who cares? No one is gonna notice it.
I've seen a bunch of Rebels and Limiteds and never spotted it.

Kind'a a big "Whatever" in my opinion.

Hard to notice on the limited because that trim piece that sits down in there wonder why they use them on other ones without the trim piece.

The Limited/Rebel tailgate also has the RAM letters and not the Ram's head. The Ram's head is recessed into the metal, the letters just have alignment holes.

Ok what years have that tailgate ?

2016 and up for the Rebel and Limited, and Night Edition got it in 2017 and up. So unless someone swapped tailgates, whenever you see this gate and the RAM letters you know it’s a 2016+

that ram head on the back of mine is way big enough. those giant ram letters might have caused me to not look any closer into buying one. it was hard enough to get used to the, to me, frilly new front end. I like it ok now.

I didn't notice the extra line, but knew the tailgate had to be different. The ones with Ram head emblem will have an indentation and holes for the emblem.

I'm just the opposite.....I bought mine because it had the RAM on the tailgate....I love putting that in the face of every Ford, GM and Tundra owner behind me
