I wouldnt get your hopes up, nor would I want him to anyway....how many people would you expect to use that only for good instead of evil?

I agree, if he's not adding Pin Pull then I wouldn't expect to see mileage adjustment... but I could be wrong :).

We have already tried to find a setting for it and it is not there so the digging has been done. The only option we have found with the tool is to turn it on or off. The blink count is not listed in the options menu. I am sure that the three blinks is programmed somewhere but the problem is finding it. I have looked with my other programming tool as well and it is not displayed with it either. I do agree 3 blinks is not enough. I would prefer at least 5 or 6.

I agree, 5 or 6 would be better - not sure how they decided on 3 :(

Received word back from the developer on my OEM fob programming.

"The last attempts recorded: programming failed with
"waiting for key" status (I will add the status display in
the next update). It looks that the RFH just does not find
the key."

Damn knockoff keyfobs :)

Im still kinda curious if they are "locked" somehow, as if they had already been programmed to a different vehicle. There is some indication of tools that are used to unlock a fob that was previously used, but they are expensive locksmith-type machines.

Not sure how much it would cost for them to attempt an unlock on a fob that the RFH cant see for one reason or another.

From my local locksmith the fobs are locked to 1 car and have to be sent out to get cleaned. Side note both fobs I got from the link in the first post in the adding keyless entry thread worked first try from amazon.

I did see an eBay service where you can send the fob to them for like $20 and they send you a mailer with something like a 3 day turnaround.

In the alfaobd, do you see the actual (before change status) on screen or do i need to check in th blog before?

View attachment 156802
By change status do you mean if Alfa will show you what you currently have set? If so, yes. You can upload your current BCM configuration with the directions in the OP and also by finding the setting you need under car configuration change and make the selection. Then select start and it will show you in the upper box what the current setting is.

@Stephane

I’ll be the guinea pig. I just made the changes I outlined in the previous posts to see if I am correct. I’ll let you know in a few

@Stephane With those two settings, I got no audible tone alert above 75mph and I could not locate any Speed Warning CSM in the 8.4. Might be the country setting as you had already found. Left them set for now to see if a deeper sleep is needed will check again later.

Side note, just had a chat with the dealer here about the fob. They wouldn't touch the fob and said they would be happy to have one ordered and programmed for $165 plus an hour shop rate ($110). No thanks...

@Ghost_RAM thanks. As soon as my OBDlink arrive i will do some testing. Do you think that if i change the country in the "VehConfig 1 - Country code" in the car configuration it will be enough or do i have to change it in several other menu. i ask that because i found your list of working procedure for DLR and compared with another one (youtube video) and they where not the same, but result was the same (you find DLR setting in many menus).

1 hour to program a fob lol

I just had 4 tires replaced (old removed, new mounted and road force balanced) in 1.5 hours

and dealers wonder why they get a bad rep.

There is only one setting for country code that I am aware of and it is in VehConfig 1. Not sure if you would need to set the country of origin or just optional in "CBC Features - DRL Configuration" (No DRL, Canada DRL, Europe DRL, Optional DRL or Europe DRL 48.04)??

However, seeing as you have a Limited, there are instructions here listing the procedure for setting Dedicated DRL which I would think you would want.

CBC I/O right dedicated DRL Lamp output preset - YES
CBC I/O left dedicated DRL lamp output present - YES
CBC DRL config -OPTIONAL DRL
CBC features - DRL lamp location- DEDICATED
CBC features- DRL dropout enable- YES
CBC features LED dedicated DRL present- YES
ECU Config- DRL customer settings enable/disable- YES
Daytime Running light CSM- YES

They charge a one hour minimum no matter what it is. Was told they were ranked one of the worst in VA for a number of years because of poor customer service/practices. Not sure how true that is but after my handful of dealing with them it wouldn't surprise me.

those instruction are different from the one i have taken from you list of working setting.
Here we have to modify the front tail light as orange light in front is not ok. they glue a led strip at the bottom. you can see on the picture. i just want to have the "regular" front light (not high beam) on.
i think a just need to change the CBC feature - DRL lamp location from DEDICATED to LOW BEAM DRL or even to FOG LAMP DRLIMG_0805.jpegIMG_0802.jpeg alfaobd DLR.png

The service manual shows 0.2 hours to replace a keyfob. Does not say if that includes programming (my guess is it does). Again, this is why dealerships get a bad rep. They could even charge half an hour, still be more than the book and might actually have a shot at a customer paying them to do it.

Im sure they are making something on the new keyfob itself, too.

I believe the service book times are for what FCA reimburses the dealer for warranty work? Anything on the customers dime they can charge whatever they want.

Question for the day. I purchased a set of Ram Factory Projector Headlights. Going to install them with HID Low beams and use the Morimoto Ballasts with Igniters. Using the Alfa App. I will be able to set them for HID. I currently have quads and will need to purchase the Adapters from Retro Shop to hook up pigtails for existing wiring. They come with the Capacitors and resistors built in the pigtail. Do you know if this will cause any issues after switching setting to HID?

No issues with that. Those resistors in the conversion harness are for the led park/turn signals that the projector headlights use.
