That's interesting. My manual says it can store the ATC plus radio settings. My manual has been wrong in the past though. I am pretty sure I have seen people post that they could save the ATC settings but I haven't seen it in person. I have a friend with a Laramie. I will ask him if he knows. It would seem that the ATC automatically resetting would be kind of redundant because we basically keep it where we like it all the time anyway. It would make sense that it's not included maybe it's a misprint in my manual not sure

FYI,
@mjf6175 should have received his memory mirror add-on harness and may have a different result since his truck is a newer 2017 Ram 2500. Can't recall what seat wiring he already had if any from the factory

Since you have a Laramie does your ATC set with your memory seats mirrors and radio?

I'm not even sure what that would look like if it does happen.
I know radio presets come back along with the mirror & seat positions.

Basically it would revert back to the temp it was set on when you originally set your memory profile.

I'll have to test that out later tonight after work or tomorrow. I leave it set to Auto Temp and never pay attention beyond that.

Thanks. It's not a big deal. I'm just curious. It shows in my manual that it sets the ATC with the other memory settings but Im not sure it's correct. I'm mostly trying to narrow down what's not working correctly and what is.

Yes, received my memory harness and as usual the exceptional construction. Right now I am swamped with projects, so I am a little slow in getting to install the new harness and the memory mirrors I already had purchased over the winter. I will update what happens after the install is complete. Just as a point of reference, my 2017 Ram 2500 is a regular cab and it already had all the wiring in place for the heated / ventilated seats that I added.

Old thanks. Im pretty sure you will have the same results as the other truck that came with the factory heated/vented seat wiring.

2017 Tradesman - Edge Case - Manual Driver / Passenger to power drive / power heated vented passenger?

Thanks to everyone for this information, I've read both threats.

I had a manual Driver manual passenger seats in a 2017 tradesman with Vinyl Covers <which I like>. I found a power driver which I swapped in and connected a fused 10amp from the fuse box and got power functions and lumbar to work just fine. (I transferred my vinyl cover>.

Wife was complaining about comfort in the passenger seat so I found another from a bighorn (airbag blown). I'm going to transfer my cover and airbag and run power directly. Is there anyway to control the heating pad or cooling pad simply with aftermarket switches and a relay? I do not have the heating and cooling function on the drivers seat and I do not have any of the proper wiring. Was thinking aof simply running directly to the heating pad power <relayed>.

Also would the vinyl seats with no vent holes cause the vent fan to overheat? Could you cool without the fan venting?

I know this is a weird setup, simply thinking since I came across a seat with those functions could it work? If not I'll simply run fused 10AMP to the power and call it a day.

Thanks in advance

The heating pads will not work properly without being connected to the heater control module that is located under the drivers seat on heated seat trucks. The heating pad is a three wire system. There are no cooling fans in the heated only seats only the heated/vented seats. You would need to connect the heater control module to the CAN on the truck run the proper wiring
and enable the proper codes in order for any of the factory system to work. For what you are wanting your best bet would most likely be just removing the factory heating pads and installing an aftermarket universal seat heater kit. Of course you can install all the factory wiring and codes an have it all function just like a factory equipped truck but I'm sensing that's not what your looking to do.

Thanks and yes, I wasn't really looking to do the whole harnes, switch module, programming thing. I was really after power seats, which I can get with 10 amp fused. I thought from reading the other threats this would be the case. I did notice when I removed the seat cover, the cooling module on the back seat takes only 2 wires which run to a blower fan and cool pad / pack. So I thought, hmmm must simply be 12v. The module must regulate temperatures and stuff.

Sounds like for me the aftermarket heat pads would work but for the limited times the wife will be in the car, I think I'll put my time and effort elsewhere.

If any one needs the fan blower, cool pack, heater pack on the back , I can disconnect them and send them to you.

You should be able to hook the fan up to 12v and get it to work. I had the fan working on my garage chair with just 12v. The heating will not work without the module.

I saw that you said the passenger seat was out of a Bighorn and they do not have heated/vented seats so they don't have any cooling fans. That's why I was kind of confused when you mentioned the cooling fans for the heated seats. I'm thinking if it's a vented seat it's most likely out of a Sport,Laramie,Longhorn or Limited.

ahh ok the guys at the yard must have been wrong...on the bighorn.

One last question.....I basically removed the bottom cushion and took the heating pad and cooling fan off with it and deemed it not usable. However, the back still intrigues me. The back heating cooling element has 2 jacks with 2 wires each...meaning two at the top which go to fan <and i presume cooling element> and at the bottom another 2 wires <which i presume to be heating>.

One last thought, could I simply add switches and power to these and turn on the max cool, and max heat for the back element? I realize they must be analog at this point because they run to the fan and element directly. I suppose the module, along with other things, must operating in line resistors for heat adjustment,,,, but with this thing all stripped down, I did think of buying two switches and attaching them directly to the seat near the other switchs. Of course would not want to operate cool and heat at the same time so 3 pole switch? Is this just asking for a fire or is it reasonable to assume that 12v would be max cool and 12v on the other wire set would be max heat?

Thinking I'll probably just junk it and simply use the power, but this is my last thought.

I would not attempt to use it that way. You will have no control over the temperature because you will have no thermostatic switch or sensor involved. You will be asking for trouble. Universal seat heater kits are inexpensive and easy to install. I would reccomend going in that direction if you want heated seats.

Need some help in finding a setting that I cannot find for memory seats. I checked the first post in the Alpha thread for the settings needed, there are 3 settings:

-Cabin Net-MSM Memory Seat Module
-Memory-Memory Seat Present
-ECU Config 3-Memory CSO Present

I have found and set the first 2, but I cannot find "ECU Config3-Memory CSO Present". It is NOT listed under my ECU Config 3 when I downloaded the log file of settings. I pasted below a screen shot of what my ECU Config 3 lists:

Can anyone lead me to where I may find this setting?

I can't see what year your truck is with TapTalk but it appears that setting is not present in the 2013 with the alfa tool. I can find it with the other years. My truck is a 14 so it was present when I enabled my memory seats. I'm not 100% sure but I think that setting was already enabled when I went to set it. If you have the four wires needed from the yellow drivers side seat connector two to the CAN and two to the drivers side door module you memory may work with only the two codes added. Have you tried setting the two codes you have found to see if it works?

Rick.....my Ram is a 2017 2500. I added the harness Grimm made to the seat plug. 5 and 6 to the Canbus; 2 and 13 to the door connector. Easy Exit works now. I have not added the mirrors yet (I have them, just need to install at some point). When I try to set a "memory" following the manual instructions I do NOT get the EVIC screen advising memory #1 (or #2) is set. There is NO EVIC screen change or notice. I saw your previous post and realized that I am missing the one setting. The other 2 settings have been already set.

What is really strange I cannot find the "ECU Config 3/Memory Setting Present" in my log file NOR in the alpha program.

Where in the Alpha program is it located?

Yes I just looked and it's not there on the 17 either. I'm honestly not sure why it's not present. I had a hard time getting mine to work also and then it just worked. Do you have the 7" speedometer? I know the instructions in my manual to link to the the key fob were incorrect. You don't need the memory mirrors in order for the memory seats to work. Oldfarmer just enabled the memory seats in his 17 and they work fine. I sent him the 3 codes to enable it and he never mentioned one not being present when I talked to him. I will give him a call and see what I can find out. Sorry...I have to ask are you 100% sure you pinned the wires correctly? It's extremely easy to get one in the wrong slot, especially the one in the door harness.
