Yea hat seemed to work for me , at bottom of blue I had on ac and thought man this isn’t cold at all kept pushing on down like 15 more times and it got really cold . So I assume that’s the case for warm as well .

Ok thanks. I think I noticed this on mine too but thought nothing of it. It was really cold out but the air seemed warm'ish.

I have no problem holding it down if that's all it takes. I usually only control temperature by the blower anyway and it stays on full hot/cool all the time.

image.jpg image.jpg I’m looking at the plug at the back of the radio
I’ve traced every wire in the back I know where every wire goes except one it’s in pin number three
It is a Blue wire and a Purple stripe
I can’t find it Tech authority
I have a complete wiring harness out of the dash and I can tell you it goes to a yellow connector but I can’t figure out where that goes
I know it ends up in this yellow connector that I took a picture of but I don’t have any idea where it even goes in the vehicle

If anybody has an idea it would be greatly appreciated

Well I figured out the yellow connector goes to the rollover sensor
But it makes zero sense to me why that the radio would be up to that rollover module

I got a suspicion that the problem probably is that I actually need the line bus signal connected to the radio

scratch that after getting a hold of the plug diagram there is no pin available four line bus

So, I found a slightly older UAS from a 2019 (my current part revision is AK this one is AJ) for $350. This one came to me in perfect condition to include the screen.

It finally corrected my compass heading issue where it would only display "--" in the cluster with the AK 2019 UAS installed.

However, now it appears the time isn't updating. I can set it but it just stays the same and I get this error from Android Auto when plugged in. Anyone seen this time issue before?

Edit: it's only been in for about 30 minutes. Maybe I just need to be patient...

I think mine did that for a while then finally synced , I’ll have to double check and make sure now .

Yeah, time is good now. I just needed to be patient. It has 22.5 for firmware and I can see why people complain. Sounds kinda muddy for audio and the notification volume is pretty annoying. Still no Android Auto.

I'm going to attempt upgrade to 22.6 as a cure all...

Victory! Switching to a different USB drive worked. Originally I was using an 8GB formatted fat32. I then switched to a 32GB formatted fat32 and the update completed (no error 20). Here is the USB I used...

SanDisk 32GB Ultra Fit USB 3.1... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077VXV323?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I still have the Android Auto issue after updating to 22.6 though but CarPlay works fine.

this is from a 2019 classis? what was the manufacture date on the radio? I have a 2019 UAS from a 1500 classic with 22.5 FW on it that I'd like to upgrade to the 22.6 to hopefully address the sound issues.

Yes, 2019 classic... I used the firmware in Mpgrimm2's firmware thread.

I have a small update. I'm able to get Android Auto to work so long as I first uninstall the app from the phone and then connect the phone to the truck. When connected, AA launches as normal and prompts you to download and accept permissions. Once done, AA works as normal BUT only the very first time.

As soon as you disconnect its back to the error 8 screen

Ok, here's the fix should any of you run across Communication Error 8 when connecting to your UConnect systems for Android Auto...

First Uninstall Android Auto from your phone

Then download the latest release of Android Auto Here (the version in Google Play is older for some reason) and install it.

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...ging-5-1-500644-release-android-apk-download/

Then connect your phone to your truck and answer all of the permission/setup prompts. You should now have working Android Auto on your Uconnect system.

I found one other Jeep user who posted on this. I imagine it was just that last January update that broke it and/or the fix wasn't implented until this latest version of AA. I haven't had the radio long enough to say for sure...

EDIT: this error popped up again after resetting my phone. The aforementioned fix wouldn't work. I ended up having to remove the radio fuse and letting it sit for about 15 minutes. Once I restored power AA worked as expected.

I will post my results if I try this later or this weekend with my 2019 UAS from a 1500 Classic.
Mine was from the same (2019 UAS from a 1500 Classic)... The MY18 firmware file flashed successfully. I have yet to try all of the audio but it seemed much less muddy listening to it while I was fixing my AA issue.

that's good news. Do you know if the 22.6 fixed the booming incoming texts?

(also, as an aside, I noticed the Mando skull. The 1st season was well done, imo.)

Yeah, I've been a nerd for way longer than the show's been around! Great show though!

Interestingly, the notification volume on this UAS with 22.6 installed is extremely quiet. I needed to turn it up to 30 to hear it properly. The last UAS with 22.6 I had (also a 2019) was loud and needed to be down around 3 for comfort. Personally having to turn it up is better IMO. I don't know if it will remember the volume between drives yet, but it does remember during drives so I'm happy.

One thing I've verified was that the backup camera doesn't Auto dim on 22.6 like it did on 22.5 so when in reverse the screen goes to full brightness regardless of headlight dimmer settings.

The strange thing is, the 2019 UAS with the factory installed 22.6 did not remember between drives?

might be a vehicle thing where when you updated it, it saw some components/ modules you have and adjusted it's install. the other one maybe thought it was still in a newer model?

No idea, but I'm happier with the one I flashed then the one that was factory installed. Really the only thing that's mildly annoying now is the brightness of the screen in reverse.
