I am not sure if anyone has brought this up previously, but I noticed that there is a Power step module that can be activated via AlphaOBD. Is this only for '18 and up vehicles? Does anyone know if earlier rams had this module?
I have a 2017 Ram 1500 Sport with AMP Research steps that use the OBD port to trigger the steps. Does anyone know if this can be changed via AlphaOBD.

Sorry if this has been asked before re: DRLs. If I install aftermarket headlights like Alpharex, etc, that have Switchback turn signals/drls, if I activate DRLs and set as turn signals in Alfaodb, would i then not need to install the additional drl wiring provided? Would the switchbacks light up white for drl and amber for turn?

I’m thinking either 1) I plug it up, enable turn signals as DRLs and the switchbacks just work?

or 2) i install the dedicated DRL wiring and set dedicated as the location?

I’m an idiot. I had DRLs enabled and the new headlight switchback DRLs show amber. This makes sense as all they’re being told is to turn on. I wired up the DRL circuit that came with the headlights and they still light up amber. This makes sense as the truck is still telling them to “turn on turn signal” which overrides the DRL driver. So I went into alfaobd and turned OFF DRLs and now everything works as it’s suppose to, as the included DRL circuit and driver simply turn in the white lights when the ignition is on and the turn signal overrides the white light when the turn signal is activated.

I'm in Australia and have a DT Limited. I'd really like to have the DRL's on. There is no option for this in the menu. Should i be able to configure it with AlfaOBD? I already have an ELM327 obd dongle so I'll try that one first. Thanks.

I also have DT Limited and asked same of my dealer in Brisbane - the reply was:

"There is no daytime running lights fitted to the vehicle, however the lights are auto off with a timer. Leaving your lights on at all times is no issue, and when the ignition is off the lights will turn off also. This can be adjusted in the settings menu for different time delays."

There must be a way as all the Australian DT Limited pictures have the DTRL's on.

Tried to program a new key fob. I only have one working key fob. New Keyfob is new from Amazon. I got it to program to the ignition so it starts the truck now but I can't get the Keyless Lock/Unlock to work. What am I missing???

Followed these steps here but its for newer 13+ truck. Mine is a 2012 so its got the older WCM (WIN) security. I tried to reset WCM with no luck.

I kind of wonder if he wrote code to attempt to connect to the BCM and another module (RFHub, anyone?) at the same time and that is what is causing the crash.

Searched and searched on this. Maybe I'm missing something.
It does say in AlfaOBD that you must run PEM Replaced in the PEM to transfer new programmed key information from WCVM to PEM but not seeing that option.

I have a 2018 ecodiesel with 3.93 RA ratio I bought an ecu from a 2018 eco with 3.55 RA ratio
can I change the ratio with Alphaobd? I was hoping to tune the spare ecu and keep my original stock

I followed the directions in the link exactly. Only way I got my truck back to normal was to disconnect my negative battery for 20 minutes and then there was no issue with abs codes or anything. If I go back into Alfaobd it shows that the value took but my speedometer is still 2 mph faster than gps. Which correct me if I’m wrong, but I’d need to increase the input value to get the speedometer closer to the correct speed.

I have mastercraft courser mxt 35x12.50r20. Manufactures website states they are 34.69” in diameter which turns out to be a circumference of 2,768.14mm. My setting in Alfa is 2784mm and the speedo is still to fast.
I assume that the miles, estimated fuel, and all that fun happy stuff in our trucks rely on the tire size being correct.

yes there are settings in alphaOBD for rear axle ratio
I do NOT remember right now how far down the list but it is there

NO Dealer will be able to "add DRL's - they struggle to add them in Canada to USA trucks and even reflashing sales codes into a Canadian truck with a "bricked" BCM will NOT turn on the DRLs
I had to "manually" enable them with alpha and it works

DRL "dropout" is referring to the DRL turning off on the one side when that side turn light is on IE if turn light is the position then you NEED DRL off for the turn light to blink

So, to be clear, you have to enter BOTH lifetime and idle hours BEFORE doing the key off/wait 30 seconds power cycle? Or do you have to power cycle between entries? I have been doing the power cycle between entries and can't get the values to stick. (I did get the mileage to stick after about 5 tries) I am connected with a the MX+ using a Samsung S21 running Alfa.

that settings looks correct - I did it to a friends NEW to him 2016 last weekend and it worked
do ANY "DRL" light ANY position? or are there NO DRL lights at all?
how are you checking? the truck HAS to be running in drive/reverse with the park brake released
best test is to pull up to a storefront window and look at your reflection in the glass

I did do that and felt like the turns slash running lights weren’t on. Maybe I should try again. So those settings look ok? Not sure if I am missing something because they are quads.

It tried that and I didn’t see anything I will try again on my days off but you think those settings are correct?

I have the HD Diesel Supply stage 1 ECU. Recently started pulling a 32’ travel trailer and noticed the tranny doesn’t self downshift, or engine brake. Can I use alfaobd and turn this on myself? Thanks.
