When you aquired the update file did you use the vin# of the truck the radio came from or another? the radios vary by month in some cases as well as model as they changed hardware like gps chipsets and such and that wouldcause some firmware versions to not work on an otherwise same model # radio.
I used the link from Mp2Grimm's post, listing the firmware.

Stuff like this is just one of the reasons I disconnected the satellite antenna on my truck.

I just did the UAS conversion on my truck and was updating the software to 22.6 via a flashdrive when I got a UConnect Error Code 20. Occasionally I can get back to the update screen and it always errors about 5 minutes in. I redownloaded and reformatted and still get the same error. Has anyone found a fix yet? I hate to think I just bricked a new radio.
Can you remove the update USB after it reboots to see if it boots back into your previous firmware version? Also, error 20 for me always occured when the radio didn't like the USB flash drive I used. The only thing that worked for me was replacing the drive and trying again.

Updates come over the cellular antenna. Unless you misspoke you may want to get back in there...

Removed the USB. It tries to revert and fails there as well. I'll stop and buy another USB today. I've used these for flashing displays at a customer and might be a little too roughed up.

I wonder if going into the Engineering Menu or the Dealers Menu might help.

It must be done at your own risk, don't brick your radio

It worked back when the earlier 4th Gens, post 2012

If you press and hold both the temperature-up (red arrow) and temperature-down (blue arrow) buttons at the same time, for 5 or so seconds, you are presented with the "Engineering Menu"

Another trick is to hold the up, down, and front defrost buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds and then you are presented with the "Dealer Mode" menu:

Another trick is to hold down the up, down, and Browse/Enter buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. That puts you into touchscreen calibration mode, where you just follow the on screen instructions:

Well, I haven't seen one recover from that point when it's stuck in the update loop. Are you in the return window (if there is one)?

I get the update screen, the screen that says it's trying to revert, and the one that says failed. Going to try one more thing. Really hate to see this much money go to waste like this.

I was thinking to try a different firmware file. Maybe the file for your current firmware version if available?

That may possibly be your problem.. Thats why mopars download site requires the Vin# I know I read a thread explaining certain radios will not work with the latest because they had to make some hardware changed due to chipsets being discontinued.

Are you sure about that? My truck doesn't have a cellular antenna. Still I was offered UConnect where I would be able to remotely control the vehicle - remote start, lock/unlock doors and stuff like that. Since I don't have a cellular antennae, just the satellite antenna, I assumed the UConnnect connection must come through the satellite link.

I don't know why my truck would even have a satellite antenna if it wasn't for the UConnect link

Unfortunately, that's the only version of the file I can find. I got the VIN for the truck that the radio came from and when I go to the UConnect website, it says the truck is already up to date and it doesn't allow you to download any other files.

I was thinking that but i can't find 21.9 for the UAS, only the UAQ.

Your truck might not but the radio itself has a Sierra wireless aircard that tracks telematics, provides a cellular data connection and receives OTA updates from Uconnect.

Bought it from eBay...so...yeah...
From an individual? Some eBay sellers accept returns. I typically recommend the first thing someone do is attempt to flash the firmware. It's a ticking time bomb IMO.
