U.S. Military invented the AGM Battery. Essentially, it's just a perfected lead acid battery. Spill proof, sealed for life, shock resistant, lasts longer, less degraded by cold. It just costs more to make.
But costs have come way down since 1st production as economy of scaled production has taken hold.
I gleaned that from the AGM article but didn’t realize in the preamble they were giving a brife history of the lead acid battery , not AGM …but you can respond fastWell yes, theoretical science fairs are one thing, mass production is quite another.
Only because it's -20F windchill today and I'm retired. I don't even feel like going out to the shop. Yet.I gleaned that from the AGM article but didn’t realize in the preamble they were giving a brife history of the lead acid battery , not AGM …but you can respond fast
The Hemi's came with 730 CCA Battery, MY 19 has a 730 CCA, and it is listed on the build sheet. I do have an optional 180 amp instead of 160 amp alternator. If/when my OEM Battery goes stupid, I will replace with a Duralast Premium or Optima,. Ref my POST # 22.When my OEM battery went out a few months ago I was a little shocked it only lasted a little over 2 years .. I called the dealership and they asked what battery I had, by the time I looked he already pulled my build sheet and saw that it was only a 730 amp maintenance free battery which does state on my build sheet, but he said my truck should of came with a group size 65 and 850 amp? Does that sound right ?
Right, but the guy told me my truck "should" of came with an 850 and my battery didn't last that long, 2 years if I remember correctly might of been a little more ....The Hemi's came with 730 CCA Battery, MY 19 has a 730 CCA, and it is listed on the build sheet. I gotcha,. the ole should of dealer line like the Cannot Replicate line, LOL. I say 730 CCA, because I am assuming U have a 1500, by yer Avatar info. But yeah, I will upgrade to a bigger battery when the time comes. Summer heat here "cooks" batteries. Weird, cause I got the ole felt cover battery box and when it hits around 110 degrees, pop the hood and U can "smell" the battery, boy that baby be cooking.Right, but the guy told me my truck "should" of came with an 850 and my battery didn't last that long, 2 years if I remember correctly might of been a little more ....
Do you have an Ice Tray under the bottom yours too ?H8 fits perfect in my 2016, when you pull your battery, look in the bottom of the tray, you will see a little plastic piece in the middle of the tray on the side closest to the windshield - Remove it and bammm - you can now fit an H8 - aka stock ecodiesel battery.
Yes, I am aware of that. However, I am wondering if the charging voltage going into the battery might be different than those trucks that do not come with AGM.Many of them come with AGM. I think it is based on trim level but not sure.
I honestly didn't notice but didn't look for it either.Do you have an Ice Tray under the bottom yours too ?

My RAM is a 2017 and the OEM battery is not AGM
