I was planning to add the smart beam mirror to my truck but I was wondering if it will work and be about to see through the blacked out part of the windshield behind the mirror? I was thinking there was a clear spot on the windshields of the factory equipped trucks?
The smart beam mirror sits below the frit.

Edit: The only difference in windshields is for the rain sensor.

^^Chris is correct. Same windshield. I installed a Smart Beam mirror in my 2017 2500. Install took all of 10 minutes.

Was going to post my results on adding remote start but I ended up breaking the number 11 wire pin that needs to go into the harness so I couldn't ground the wire and bypass the hood latch. Not sure what I am going to do now

Was this a BCM terminal that broke? @DeereGuy might be able to get you one with a 6" lead on it if you can get it out/release the pin lock (might have to take it to the dealer).

I have a 2018 3500, if I have the Security Gateway Module Bypass from Infotainment (I bought and used for folding tow mirrors) before I saw any of this thread AlfaOBD, I have bought AlfaOBD and OBDLink MX, so my question is will the Security Gateway bypass from infotainment do the same thing as the bypass harness from DeereGuy? Not saying one is better than the other, just that I already spent $70 and if I don't need to spend another $50 for the same thing I'd rather not. I'm looking to add remote start to my truck and ordered the hood switch (want the safety feature).

Thanks,
Rick

Yes, you can use the zAutomotive bypass that they sell instead. Should work fine.

One more question, for the rain sensor to fit behind the mirror bezel and look factory, could I add the sensor the same way I believe you did but replace the windshield with one designed for the sensor? I ask because mine has a chip and will eventually be replaced.

Yes you can and the cost is about the same.

STecoD and I installed our Cargo Cams today. His truck is a Crew Cab with solid back window. My truck is a Quad Cab and I have installed the factory power sliding window. His truck was much easier to install the harness because there is more access to the headliner with the regular window. The power sliding window has a trim ledge that made it much harder to fish the harness through. That being said the install was strait forward and as usual the harness Deer Guy (M2mods) fit perfect and looks factory. There is a small adaptor plug that connects to the the two connectors on the light. One connects to the factory truck connector and the other connects to the main harness and runs across the headliner and down to the connector in the drivers side C pillar where two wires are pinned in the #5 and #6 slot. Then there are three more wires that run to the radio connector and are inserted in pin# 24 #25 and #26 and you are done. Five wires! A couple of notes.
From what I understand the 1500 trucks need the three wires to be connected to actual radio connector. The 2500 and 3500 trucks do not. There are a few different wiring options depending on your truck so make sure you give Mike your Vin# and all your info if you order a harness so he can determine the best place to access the connectors. I have pictures and more details for those interested but don't want to clog up this thread. 0b1fec41e0c505a76f194cb35d667145.jpga0462260ebc41bedf58642e0b50bbea9.jpg4a93fb1e5b4f8af3d37bc2a45b75c48c.jpg204166dc47abb7ec35328ab08bdfdd5b.jpgc9a9192fa9bafba545b97a2a30a64eae.jpg

Hey, just saw this in google play store:
Chrysler Pin Puller Android App Automotive Tool

I viewed the video but its not very informative. Comments below the video show the confusion over just exactly how this works. Maybe someone here more versed than me (an old guy) in electronics will understand.

Dedicated thread worthy? Hmm.

@mjf6175 was trying to get the gridlines for the cargo to activate. Let us know if you get it working on yours. I believe jeepguy_1980 had it working back in the day with the original CustomTronix RAx Jailbreak. Let me see if I can find it ...

Edit:
Well maybe not. Found his old YouTube video and at 35secs in I don't see lines on the cargo cam. Not sure if he used an OEM camera or aftermarket...

I will post a pic of my 8.4 screen with the new menu addition tomorrow, it will help others to understand what we are talking about. Thanks for the help, I have been looking through the settings and can find no joy in locating just what setting is missing that will make it work.

It’s showing that it’s only good for RAM up to 2012 (probably since they don’t use rf hubs). And, judging by the way the developer responds to user reviews, I can tell that technical support is probably non existent.

Ghost...Over the weekend I set the "CHMSL Line Customer Settings Menu". It resulted in a new menu item on my 8.4 screen. It was under "Safety and Assistance" and the new setting that showed up was "Cargo Camera Guidelines". When I check the box to turn the option on the setting unchecks itself in 2-3 seconds. So there is another setting that is needed. You may recall the same type of result happened when some added the heated seats and did not get all the settings, they clicked the heated seat and it would go on for a few seconds and then go out. The fix was enabling the second setting that they had missing. So my guess the same is happening here.

My truck is a 14. I don't even see that setting with the tool.

I had the same results when trying to enable the guidelines. I got the soft key on the menu but it unchecks itself. I looked for any other setting to change but I couldn’t find any relivent changes to make.

I believe @mjf6175 is correct in his assumption that there is another setting we're missing for the cargo cam. What that would be I don't know?

@Ricks Ram, @STecoD Great job on your installs of the cargo cams! Adding to the OP and will update again if one of you decide to dedicate a thread.
