So I put in my catch can earlier this week. My OCD is in a bit of a panic expecting to see some sign of life already. (Probably 250 miles max since I installed) Not seeing a thing. Truck is almost brand new so clean engine, very clean oil (2000 miles). Temperature outside has been pretty moderate and not like cold to warm and its a dry climate here as it is, aside from we've had some pretty good ran the past 5 days. i drive pretty sedately and most of my mileage is in town aside from a few trip 1 hour trips to the city at highway speed this week.

doing some searches online, my sense is it could be a lot more miles before i see anything and there's no consistent pattern of how long before i should be seeing some "liquid gold".

In the back of my brain I'm worrying if somehow it's plugged, but common sense says if it was I'd be seeing or feeling some issue (no change in power or anything on the truck, no codes)

tell me not to worry!!!!! LOL

Buddy, if you were to read all the post in the archives on CC. You will find that some members experience a lot of blow by into their CC. Others almost none. I suspect that the difference is in the age of the engine. Type of engine and differences in weather..
I put my UPR CC on my 03 5.7 at 230K. Get very little gunk. Thought I had installed the CC wrong so I contacted the tech guys and confirmed what I was getting was not unusual and I had it in right. Fitz

The biggest issue with a can is more how you drive then anything Terry. The harder you drive a Hemi, the faster it'll fill a can.Baby'ing it around with a brand new truck, won't put much into the can for a bit, wait till you have 1500 clics on it,then drain it.I drain the one on my wifes car about every 2,000 clics, and being as it's still a new car,it'll only usually have a couple ounces in it.

I believe the Moroso is a baffled can. I do know that unlike some you find online, it has the steel string type material in the chamber. After I read about some of the cheaper ones on Amazon that you had to get your own material for, that was on my radar.

BT is a good one also some are just all the same and ripping guys off. some are real tiny so you have to empty more then others but I think it does a great service in keeping the engine gunk free. good luck

i did tweak it a bit this morning. doublechecked no pinched hoses, shortened the line from the pcv as the run was longer than needed, made sure no kinks again. i wasn't happy from the get go how tight one of the barb fittings was (even though i didn't get any codes, engine was running fine). i could turn it easily with a few fingers, so I redid the teflon tape on it and carefully tightened it with the wrench to my satisifaction. I didn't want to strip it so i had been pretty dainty with it when i first did it.

i'm just going to leave the damn thing be to do it's job. lol

i'm going for the first oil change to airdrie dodge this week. If they comment on it, you'll hear from me. lol. and next time i would go to mountainview dodge. This is like the Japanese thing where now that you saved my life as it were, you are responsible for me for the rest of yours. lol

thanks a bunch. i like the moroso..a good size can and love the drain concept and have a hose going straight down to just below my air dam. a bottle, a block of wood and a cocktail while i let it do its thing and i'm gold:) lol. I'll be putting about 1700 km on it by the end of the first week of july with a trip to the lake so i'm expecting to see something by that point!

1500 hundred miles have a look see then you don't want it to fill up to near the top of the can, because it will blow back into the motor

It's a good sign if you don't have all that much in it,so don't be disappointed if there's not much in at just over a 1,000 miles ,lol.

Don't worry long as you are getting the additional 25 HP increase (35 if you install any decal that comes with it). :)

My BT catch can would fill up faster than I expected, but if its related to driving style that would make sense. Once I got my exhaust I would tend to appreciate the beautiful sounds it made more than the extra 2-3mpg I would get babying the gas pedal. Good luck!

You wanna see a catch can fill up fast, throw about 8lbs of boost to your truck with the moroso set up. You’ll be emptying it every 500km.
