I’m looking for some guidance with uploading my BCM log file. I just purchased Alfaro did, obdlink Mx +, a Lenovo m10 tablet (no android products in my Apple house) I inserted the obdlink, made a connection to it thru Alfa, navigated to Body Control, clicked to upload the status log to my google drive. When I open the file there is nothing there. What am I missing? Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the gear icon and in settings there should be something for uploading logs. I also have apple products so I don't have alphaobd with me too double check

If your M10 is android based, you need to connect to the BCM, then tap the battery icon, to force Alfa to read the BCM data. After that, you should be able to log into GD and upload your file.

Thank you for your question(s) AND the answers ! I too have a new just-for-AlfaOBD tablet and would have run into the same issues tomorrow when I try to adjust my tire size.

Here are the two codes that I turned on to make the make the homelink work.

Lin and misc- EOM present
CBC I/O UGDO feed output present

It now shows up and clears on EVIC

I added the homelink to my console everythink works, but wanted to know is i need turn CBC I/O UGDO feed output present to yes or no also and what does this do?

No. That doesn’t get set. That one is for other vehicles like the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. It’s for their universal garage door opener.

I'm might have something to do with not having a hood monitoring switch since your truck has the aftermarket remote start. I know your aftermarket remote is separate so just guessing but maybe by enabling the VTA and not having the hood switch it's somehow not allowing the truck to remote start.

Ok thanks, I noticed my homelink works without the key, so with factory alarm is this turned off if truck broken into? Guess wise thing would tire it to key power only

Homelink is always hot. I would imagine if you ran switched power to it, the compass would re-calibrate on every startup, and possibly forget your garage door setting?

The VTA might need the hood switch but I know on mine(enabled from the factory) the hood switch will not set the alarm/horn off. I let the alarm set with the window down, then opened the hood and nothing sounded. Then opened the driver's door and the alarm went off.

That's strange. The horn sounds in all the trucks I have done when the hood is opened when I enable the VTA and the truck has the hood latch switch.

When you enabled all the VTA settings did you also enable CBC Features: VTA hood ajar monitoring? If you don’t have a factory hood latch with the ajar sensor, disable this setting, but keep the other VTA settings.

Enable VTA and CBC I/O VTA Warning LED output present select "yes", now truck can be remote start thank you

I have installed the RAM bed lights in my 2018 Laramie. There is a harness connection under the bed next to the connection I used for the Left Bed Light. Im thinking its for the bed switch option. Has anyone found out how to activate the switch with Alfaobd?

I have looked but have not been able to find anything so far.

I put the lights and switch on my truck over a year ago and have not seen were alfaOBD has made any updates to activate the switch. I'm still waiting as I try to stay away from the dealer and I sure don't want them in my BCM!!! LOL

The switch isn’t activated with the lights?

The dealer enabled mine before I had Alfa, and all they selected was the lights. The switch worked instantly. I was there with the tech.

It’s different when the dealer does it. He only needs to activate one sales code to get everything working, where it takes alfa two settings- one for the lights and one for the switch. AlfaOBD only supports features through 2017, and the switch showed up in 2018. He would need to add the switch output usage to the CBC I/O Usage settings.

There is no option in AlfaOBD to activate the switch? If the dealer flashes your BCM will it not erase everything You have done with AlfaOBD?
