Third brake light

I got the dash message of brake light out. Thanks to this forum, I found it to be the cab brake light. Removed, find both bulb and socket are a burnt color. Replaced bulb, still not working. does the socket need to be replaced?

use a meter/test light to see if there's voltage going into the socket

Any sign of water getting in? This is a super-common problem due to the crappy factory gasket.

if you switched to LED make sure its a CAN BUS type.

I have had LEDs not work if the bulb is installed flipped. (+ and - matter on most LEDs)

Ended up flipping the bulb over, working fine now.
