I am rural. I would hate to see my electric bill IF I had electric for heat.
We are also rural. We have an all electric house, 3K sq ft. Well made house. 6" walls, good windows, all brick, deep insulation in the attic. Electric bill averages about $130 a month on a yearly basis. And the wife likes it cold in the house in the summer.

Dang..I didn't know we would be getting that far off topic with a washing machine...lol.I for sure dont mind as I like the chit chat......
Our set was 23yrs old ..I replaced the washer 2 yrs ago,...that has some kind of sensing crap that starts before the water, doesn't spin it though...u can't open it,if you do at any part of its cycles it starts all over....im not allowed to do the laundry, been specially told this...still have the dryer.
Also..a basement down here is called a swimming pool.
I also would much rather cook(i barely let her cook...lol)with gas but the house wasnt plumbed for it when i had it built and I'm not switching now as it would be a pretty major job being where the stove is in the center of the house,no NG in my area either so it would be a tank if it hapoened...
Back to topic....EV isn't for me just yet but I'd be open to it if it met my needs.

Ok so maybe it’s not so great there. But compared to us you’re doing great your government isn’t trying to destroy your country. At least not on purpose. You are doing better on climate issues without killing the economy and taxing people to death. I am sure that someone will correct me. I just call them as I see them. Canadas ghg emissions are a drop in the global ocean. But we are being forced to pay more for less.

lol I am sure that there is washing machine forums. I could post on there about the modern junk we bought. It was one of the best most efficient machines around. 10 years warranty on the motor itself but the rest was junk so that it couldn’t be fixed for less than the price of a new machine

Evs are kinda like that. They are great until they are not. They might be good for some people but not others. The reality of the world is sometimes different than what they want. Elon musk has lived in Canada and studied physics and economics. Are you saying that he doesn’t know that batteries don’t work well in the cold climate. He was just giving the kook-aid drinkers what they want. And now that they have it they are finding out what it’s actually all about

I strongly disagree with your conclusions. Maybe we were doing better than some, but it's all a house of cards when you look at the national debt issue.

And if we had to pay enough taxes to keep our current annual budgets paid in full each year, there would be a major revolution here.

I think you have us confused with some other country. We are killing off good paying jobs and industries as fast as govt edicts can work. The only reason we may seem to be doing good things is a very biased media and running up our nations credit card well beyond the breaking point. $34 TRILLION in debt, and no plan whatsoever to pay it off or slow it down. That train is going to run out of track someday.
the plan to pay off that debt lies in digitizing our money and outlawing cash. but yes, many more efficient products are available to replace the old reliable energy hog ones. but the new ones have lots of electronics to go bad so we trade longevity for energy efficiency. my garage fridge is a 23 cf plain basic one I bought in 1986 and it runs like a top even in the heat we get here. the up-scale designer one we bought the first time we remodeled our kitchen had to have 2 main board replacements and our service guy finally talked us into getting one with the fewest frills and least tech if we wanted it to go more than 5 years so we replaced it. dont get me started on the light bulbs.

Our taxes and cost of living are through the roof much like yours. We had a balanced budget 8 years ago but now we have a prime minister that has never worked a day in his life. Maybe we should should get a math teacher instead of a drama teacher/queen. Stephen Harper may have seemed like he was made of wood. But at least he could balance a cheque book

The whining and screaming is just beginning the liberals are already trying to paint Pierre as the next trump. What they don’t understand is some people agree with him and are tired of all the (woke bs). Jt and the rest will soon be looking for another job (hopefully I was going to put god willing but I’m a heathen)

Pierre is much more business-like and surgical when he filets the press. The apple orchard and CP videos are priceless.

Agreed it’s funny that he looks like a geeky kid but he’s a no nonsense person who has his poop in a group. Hopefully he’ll be our next prime minister.

You got that right. Heard on the news in the truck the other day that the interest on our 34 trillion national debt is about a trillion dollars per year now. Largest debtor nation on earth and I’m not proud to leave that to my kids. Most people don’t have a concept of what a trillion dollars is. Count out a trillion one dollar bills and it would take a person over 31,688 years without a break to do it but we just keep spending.

Hey you do laundry too, lol. Ever since my better half shattered her leg,i've learned to do the laundry as getting up and down the basement stairs isn't fun for my wife.I've noticed the same thing with the washer we had to buy a year ago to,it doesn't wash anywhere near as good as her 25 year old one did,so i've taken to double washing all the loads, first load i use soap/second load just water, otherwise it doesn't seem to rinse all the soap out. They can stick their high efficiency washer/dryers up where the sun don't shine,as i don't think having to double rinse everything is very efficient
HECK no, they suck. SO hence the reason I usually only USE a cycle that I can hit the MAX FILL and regardless of setting, will fill tub all the way. This economy BS of trying say to do sheets with just a minimum amount of water is soooooo stupid. Sometimes, I wish I would have just bought a Lower Economy washer, instead of the midline. Another way to get more water in tub, put in clothes, and dump like 3-4 gallons of water in and let soak in. Gives the pressure sensor a false indicator of MORE weight, so it will automatically put in more "water". Grrrrrrrr.

Isn't that NEW RAM with the battery system and an ADDED 6 Cylinder Pentastar motor to "spin" a generator charging system just a washing machine on wheels? roflmao.
