Wow that's crazy. I received an Email from them stating that they contacted Mopar and Mopar confirmed mine should be covered. They supposedly reached out to the dealer service department but haven't heard anything since. I will be following up with them, after the holiday. All vehicles have issues but dealers should cover this crap.

Keep seeing dealer isn’t covering this …
Stellantis this is the authority on what Stellantis will pay for under warranty not the dealer. If a dealer is saying Stellantis won’t pay for the warranty repair, ask to see documentation from Stellantis stating it is not covered. Otherwise, they are just pulling an answer from their **** based their interpretation of the extended warranty.

If Stellantis has sent documentation denying warranty coverage then the court system is the ultimate authority to force Stellantis to honor the warranty.

I figured I'd just make a new thread rather than try to update existing threads on this. For 2019, 2020, and some 2021 1500's (DT) Stellantis is extending the warranty on the 3rd brake light and rear windows that suffer from water intrusion. Here are the TSB's...
Thanks for the info. What is Stellantis? Is this related to the manufacturer warranty or is this an extended warranty?

Stellantis is the parent company which owns Ram.

A little late to the party, but reading the service bulletin, it says water leaking into the back of the cab and a wet headliner are symptoms. Would this water also be coming inside the rear window? I don't see any signs of water coming in and no water marks on the glass, but if my headliner is black it might be hard to see any stains. Is the only fix to actually replace the whole third brake light? If it's just a gasket I'd be inclined to replace it preemptively myself.

There are 2 separate service bulletins, one for the 3rd brake light and one for the rear window. I have a black headliner also so I did not notice any water stains. Once I received my extended warranty notice for the 3rd brake light on my 2019 Ram, I checked the headliner with my hand the next time it rained and it was wet. I never noticed actual rain drops on my rear windshield. When I made the appointment with the dealer I was leaning toward the 3rd brake light but they said it was the rear window. The dealer is saying that the rear windshield problem for my truck is not covered under that TSB which I am trying to fight because it clearly should be covered.

Ram's fix for this is to replace the CHMSL because the gasket is adhered to the light housing. Lots of people have removed the old gasket and replaced it with an aftermarket weatherstrip. IMO it's not worth messing with the gasket since you can get a new CHMSL from Ram for about $40 shipped unless it's the one that has the camera.

Thanks! I would have guessed the whole assembly would be considerably more expensive, but $40 is reasonable. My camera is in the tailgate. I'll be sure to check the headliner next time it rains. Guess I'd better check my build date too, maybe I'll be lucky and I got the improved one. I don't have a sliding rear window, so the other bulletin wouldn't apply.

I checked mine after the last rain. Wet headliner.
Guess I'm headed to dealer tomorrow.

Nope. Both of those extended warranties are showing for my vehicle on mopar.com. The only response I've received from Ramcares is that my 2019 (it's a 20 not a 19) is not covered. When I asked how they did not pertain to mine, no response.
Scott, we have reached out to you privately with updates in regard to your concern. We believe it is news that will be favorable for you. Our team looks forward to hearing from you.

@RamCares I am experiencing this same issue and my dealer provided the TSB 23-098-23 REV A dated 10/4/23.

My vehicle was manufactured before 9/30/2020 but they said my build date is not eligible for warranty. This is absolutely unacceptable. They evaluated my truck for the CHMSL recall and said they found cracked frame. The TSB says I’m covered by date but the VIN says I’m not.

How do I get assistance? I opened an FCA case but just have to wait. Service manager wouldn’t do anything or provide documentation as to where it said my build date wasn’t covered

@RamCares please help! They quoted me $2500 roughly to replace glass and headliner (recommended)
Our team would like to sincerely apologize for the delay. When you get the chance, can you please send us a private message including your case number so our team can take a further look into this for you?

I am in the USA and I am going through the same thing. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 am having the same issue, I took my truck to the dealer and they confirmed that water is leaking through the back window. They said my vehicle is not covered because the build date of the vehicle was 2018!!?? I told him that on the TSB it says ANYTHING built on or before Sept 30, 2020 is covered. He referred it to the Service Manager and he denied the coverage!!?? I also have an extended warranty which I am still in. I opened a customer case with Ram Cares but not sure what will happen with that. How the hell can they get away with that crap??
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and our team apologizes for the delay. Can you please send us a private message providing us with your case number so we can take a further look into this for you?

So I went in to the dealership to talk with the Service Manager. We discussed the issue and I pointed out how there is no gray area as to why my truck should not be covered for the rear window replacement.....it's very black and white. I gave him the Ram Customer Service case number and he said he will investigate and get back to me. To his credit he did get back to me but I was not entirely happy with the response. He said he spoke to the Area Manager and they have decided to cover it under a "Good Will" gesture with a $225 deductible. Again, I am not satisfied with this answer but it does save me money for a fix. I still have to inquire about a few things....since they consider this a "Good Will" if it doesn't fix the issue, will this be covered under the TSB or is it a "one time only"....and a few other things to ask.....thoughts?

Finally had some steady rain/snow here in Northern Nevada. Checked my 2019 1500 Limted and sure enough, water is dripping slowly onto the back seat. How do I find out more about the recall/extension of the warranty so I can get this fixed? I was never notified and I am the 1st/only owner. I pinged @RamCares but anything else I need to do?

Just out of curiosity, does your rear window surround have cracks as shown in the warranty extension for the backlite? You're going to have to make the warranty claim through a dealership. It's possible they will try to charge you a diagnostic fee, especially if there are no visible cracks. Make sure you go in prepared and ready to show them both documents that I attached in the first post in this thread. Apparently there are dealerships out there that are unaware of this warranty extension. And deal with them in a calm manner. It never helps to go in making demands.
