yeah, they were asking $750 "firm" but they also told me that all 4 were like new and barely ran a month, thanks to them saying that i was able to get $550 off the asking price, almost enough to buy 2 brand new tires

I love the look of the Hummer wheels on the Ram's.

I was pretty sure you had to grind out the lug holes on them tho? Is that just for the 3rd Gens??

not the lug holes, (hat'd be dangerous, but i've seen it done) you have to open up the opening for the hub. i forget what the spec says it needs to be, but a 6.5" hole saw gets it done perfect. just a hair bigger than spec, but works great, so i've read. i guess i'll find out soon though. lol. prolly go to town on the rims once my hand is healed up, and i can get 2 new tires or find 2 on CL...

alright, well since i've been kinda busy haven't really updated. i've mentioned a couple things in other threads, but here is whats going on. My old transfer case, there is something wrong with and i have no idea, won't engage in 2 hi, but 4 hi and 4 lo work. (this is from a bench test outside of the truck). So that got replaced with a rebuilt one from the wrecker that works great! (but i am gunna return it anyhow....that will be explained later) but when i managed to mess up my t-case, i also managed to destroy my rear axle. i disintegrated the spider gears for my factory LSD. Pulled my diff cover off and started pulling chunks of metal out, and yes, i do mean chunks. which that is a great feeling lemme tell you what...so, i pulled my third member out, and yeah, most of the internals of the third member are destroyed. 3 out of 4 spider gears are in pieces, the last one is missing half its teeth, but still in one piece. lol. The gears that transfer the power to the axle shafts are ground down from the destroyed spider gear, couple of the clutch pads are snapped, and a couple other pieces are screwed up in there too. So, i figured i could rebuild the diff, swap it out with a junker, (both options say this will happen again) or upgrade to something a bit stronger....which seamed like the best way to go. So i am picking up a detroit Locker from Dave for my truck and gunna get that in when it gets here.

Now, as to why i will be returning my t case, as some of you might know, my view on automatics are that they work on magic and want to kill me. i also don't think the 47re is a strong tranny in the first place, so i am replacing everything. with a manual conversion. there is a yard around here that has everything, they are pulling it, i'm having a local carrier pick it up, than i will be installing it into my truck. So, kinda excited about that, but it also means a couple weeks without my truck. So this will be fun.... but anyhow, here are some pics...I also painted my diff covers and transfer case skid plate..i like 'em. lol

what i first pulled out of the diff...

and than painting the diff covers, because I wanted to feel good and do some kind of mod his week...degreased them than cleaned them up with a wire wheel on my grinder...worked great, looks great. Used red caliper paint because i had it sitting there...

yeah, she is going to come back with a vengeance, thats for sure.everything in front of the cab is good, lol. and when it happened i was about ready to kill someone, because i don't know anyone that would have the money to do the swap (since its so short notice, i wasn't able to find a great deal, but 3500 for everything i need out of a 6 speed manual isn't a horrible one, so we shall see. i hate short notice projects, but this was bound to happen....lol

on the upside, since i use my truck for work, and since this all happened while i was towing for the company, we are gunna talk to the accountant and see if these repairs are expansible to the company, we think they are but we shall see if they legally are....if so company is covering the repairs and fixes as long as i don't get unreasonable with my demands...lol so hopefully stuff will start getting better soon, 2 weeks ago broke my hand, last week broke my truck, next week, install 6 speed and rear locker...seems promising....lol

hahah damn man im telling ya those gears look fine to me hahaha, but hey least your getting your manual conversion now i think that this was destiny, it was your trucks way of saying im done with this ****** auto trans and this crappy LSD beef me up lol i notice dodges have attitudes, like my old dodge it would run crappy for anyone but me and my dad cause we drove it like it was meant to be driven. but anyways good luck with the build gonna be taking my beast apart next weekend and change out all rotors and brakes, so that brings me to my next question happen to have an extra jack? and two stands maybe? all i gots this piece of crap that will barely lift my honda. oh btw love the red dif covers and skid plate looks cool

lol, yeah thats about what i figured. my truck made the decision that light duty stuff doesn't belong and its time to replace stuff and make her a power house. lol.

yes and no, yes i have them, but no not available. sorry bud, but my truck is on them right now...after the conversion and rear axle swap they will be available...lol

and in other news. word on the ground is that i have a pallet sitting in our shop with my name on it. I should also have a locker sitting around somewhere in spokane...downside is i am 3 hours away working on a job and won't be home until later this week...i still want to atleast drop my transmission and transfer case today, and get my axle together. i don't know if i will have the time to do it all, or the help since my hand is still all messed up...but thats the plan for today after work....

well, i expected to be home and working on my truck before noon yesterday, but i ended up going out to another job, and didn't get off work until 7. so needless to say, i didn't get a chance to work on my truck. but i will be heading out in a minute to start with the rear diff, (locker is here, thanks Dave!) and than start dropping my tranny and t case.
