04 5.7 ticking on and off

Hello, I have a 2004 Ram with 5.7 Hemi. The engine is knocking on and off. It just does it as it feels at idle. Once I rev the engine, the noise is gone. It only happens sometimes, most of the time the engine is normal at idle. Please advise.

What weight oil have you been using? What brand and is it conventional or synthetic?

I'm using 5 30 conventional.

You need to be running 5w20 synthetic in these hemis. I use Mobil 1 works fine, be since you have a hemi it could be the hemi tick. Very common not really an issue.
