I have an '05 2500 Heavy Duty with the 5.7 Hemi. It currently has the AAM 10.5 rear end. With low availability on rear end parts (locker and gear sets) I have sourced an AAM 11.5. End goal on the truck is F/R Truetrac and 4:56.1's. I know that there are the small differences as far as u bolts and leaf spring plates. My main area of concern is the driveshaft. Did they offer the 2500 Heavy Duty with the Hemi as well as the 11.5 in the later 3rd Gen? Ideally if I could use the drive shaft from a Diesel, that would be great. Perhaps someone here knows the lifespan of the 10.5 in the 2500? Any information is appreciated.
