Ok I've tried searching using Tapatalk but came up empty. I want to delete my clutch fan and drop a 180 T-stat in. I've seen somewhere that Autozone stocks these. Does anyone know which one I ask for? And what type of antifreeze does my truck use? I have a 2014 Ram Hemi.

It's just standard mixed coolant from autozone. You can look on the container to see how cold it's good up to.
If they have a 180° Tstat for your truck there then I don't see the issue. They will ask you for all the info to match it to your vehicle before selling it to you.

no! don't put "regular" coolant in a 2013+ or you will damage your cooling system.

Unless you do a complete flush, the only coolant you can use to top off is the one from the dealer specific for 2013+. I think there's some compatible ones starting to show on the market, but better safe than sorry.

Taken from my PDF version of my 2014 Manual.

requirements of Chrysler Material Standard MS-12106.)

Huh. The service manager at the dealership here told me that it didn't really matter. My bad.

The anti-freeze must be HOAT compatibly unless someone has already done a complete flush and used something other that what came in your truck.

No HOAT is what was used in pre-2013 model. From 2013+ they use a special blend of OAT and can't be mixed with anything but water

Just get a gallon of premix at the dealer, ask for the "purple stuff" You will not lose more than a galon. I have the AZ t-stat. Its in my shed, ill grab the part number in a few. I think it was 12 bucks or so

NOTE! Do not get rid of the gasket on the factory T-Stat, the AZ one does not come with one. So, if you rip it or it was messed up when they installed it your going to have to get a tstat from the dealer as I dont think they sell just the gasket - so just be mindful

Just did some research considering the route this thread went and the opposite information my service mgr friend at the local dealership gave me.

Found this information on another forum posted by another professional.

"If a customer chooses a different type of coolant than that which was originally in the vehicle's cooling system, the cooling system should be flushed to remove all of the old coolant. This will avoid any potential incompatibility issues between IAT, OAT and HOAT coolants. We have not heard of any horror stories of bad things happening inside a cooling system when different types of coolants are intermixed. But antifreeze suppliers caution against mixing different types. Their advice is to use "same with same.""

You'll have to ask for a thermostat for a 09 Hemi,as nobody lists a 180 for the newer trucks, they're the same thermostat, but nobody lists it as fitting anything newer then 09.

Or just go to Moe's performance. They sell 180° for newer trucks.

I just got the Duralast 4127. They didn't have the 4128. Will I get any DTC from getting the 170? Anybody have issues with this thermostat.

Anyone else noticed that when they changed their TStat that the coolant kinda smells like soy sauce? Also there was some snot looking sludge on the stock tstat. I only have 1200mi on mine and was surprised to see the snot. Thoughts?
