1991 Dodge Rem 1500 odometer stopped working

Ok fella's, my odometer has stopped working, speedo works. I replaced the gear set but that didn't help, still not working. Does anyone know of a company that can fix and bench test? Please let me know.

Did the Odometer just stop when it reached all 99999 S ?

Find another used one and try. It needs to be a 90-93 as these are electric.

I have several broken odo's now. Resetting the trip counter has broken at least one of mine. The speedos always keep working though.

It stopped at 45,920.

I will keep looking for a replacement but would love to find a place to repair it. Such a low milage truck and would like to keep it all original.

I never messed with Chrysler speedos

If they are like OLD Ford & Chevy, you may have a hollow Flexible cable that goes from the transmission to the back of the speedo head.
Inside that flexible cable is a steel cable.

With this type of system, the inner cable is the weak link, it can snap in two.
The part that goes into the transmission has a square end

If i recall correctly, I may be completely wrong
the square end fits into an adaptor
the adaptor could be changed in the number of teeth it has, matches the diameter of the tire & the rear differential ratio ?

The 90-93 clusters are same and interchangable. I haven't found a place that repairs them. Since the speedo still works, I just got used to the odo not working.

@GTyankee the last year dodge used the mechanical cable drive speedo/odo is '89.

There was a place in downtown Ft Worth Texas... I don't remember it's name but Someone mentioned them about 6 months ago . They said they'd had an old mechanical unit fixed.
... Google speedO repair in ft Worth . MAYBE IF THE OTHER PLACE DOESN'T PAN OUT . This one will.
