Hello,

I recently bought a rough country 2.5" lift and had someone install it along with new upper control arms and new cv axles from autozone. After everything was installed on the drive home the truck shook really bad at about 20 mph and would stop if I let off the gas. When I got it home I looked everything over and found that my front diff split in two.. the person that installed it said there is a lot of tension on the cv axles from the lift so I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if maybe something was done incorrectly that or maybe I missed getting something? Right now I'm waiting to get the front diff replaced and I'm worried that it might happen again..

Yea i was gonna say…how much actual lift did you end up getting? Those angles looks like the suspension should be maxed out at full droop…definitely not where u want them when driving around.

We need more pictures and info. Shots showing the whole front suspension from the front and what PN#'s did you buy? I've got 3" struts up front and my angles are nowhere near that bad. Not to mention it looks like one of your CVs pulled completely out of the housing.

This is how your suspension should look, I'm not sure what was done to your truck.

Well currently I can't really get more pictures at the moment cause that's how it's sitting.. that's how it was sitting with I got it home. It's on 33x12.5's. The lift kit part # is 395.23 from rough country.

I've only had the truck for about a month and it looked like everything was stock when I bought it. The cv axles are duralast golds. Basicly just ordered what was on autozones site for parts. From what I read before I ordered the lift it looked like there wasn't anything else that was needed with the lift, it was just springs & struts on the front and Lil blocks and shocks for the back to give it 2.5" of lift. Pretty basic..

He went out and got a used one and it's currently sitting in the bed of the truck waiting for him to come back and put it all back together

I mean, that's one way to break another diff. Lift looks like it was installed wrong. Can you grab any closer pics of the front crossmember and a shot of the strut and spindle whole view?

With it being thorn apart I I doubt some of the bolts are in the same spot as it was before but this is how it looks

Did the kit come with lifted struts AND the top spacers? If the installer used both that would put the front end at 5" lift which might be where you're sitting.

I did not open the boxes when I got them so I didn't think to look for spacers. I assumed the person that installed it would know to look for that during the install but starting to have doubts about it..

Can you grab one more photo up in to the strut mount area?

It does look to have a spacer. Not sure how much those lift those struts offer as well. We do not offer ROUGH country so I am not too familiar with them. Do you have part numbers of what you purchased?

Also are the those UCA's angle correcting? if not, you should of got angle correcting UCA's to help level out the CV angles. Anything over 2" of front lift/level it is recommended to use them. Message me if you would like some more info and pricing
