My 08 has been dying right after i fill it up with gas. Ill go down the road a little after the gas station and it will die whenever i come to a stop. However it starts right back up no problem. But now its died once just driving around instead of it happening right after a fill up. I replaced the battery and alternator recently. I have no idea if this is a EVAP related issue or possibly something to do with the throttle body. Thanks for any feedback.

Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Prob some junk that got in there and gets loose after a fill-up and brings down the fuel pressure
Try seafoam first
Then try to get a pressure gauge on it somehow while running
Or just go with a 1/4 tank and see if it dies

Same thing happens to my '07 1500 5.7... it only occurs when I fill it all the way up and doesnt happen every time. I replaced my throttle body a couple weeks ago and it hasn't happened since, but again, it only occurs sometimes. My guess is it could either be the TB or it could also be the evap system in which case that's an expensive repair... good luck.

I had a a ranger once that I changed out the fuel pump and I didn't quite get the filler hose back in properly and it was kinked and I had to use the truck for work so I had to drive around constantly with a five gallon gas tank put into gallons at a time. The fuel was leaking onto the electrical and it melted the electrical connection and I had to go to the Boneyard to pick up another one and boy was that an adventure there was a knife fight with some mexican gangs. I had to grease the forklift driver to lift up this old ranger while i stuck my hand on the top of the tank wrenching on the plug and cutting my arm all up. I barely got out of there with my life and I take that stupid plug to the counter and the freaking guy wants like $25 for that s***

My 05 and 06 would stall coming to a stop or turning onto a side street. Both were carboned egr valves. If you take the egr off make sure the line that goes to the intake from it isn’t obstructed.
