Direct replacement, depending on what nav radio you are replacing it with. they make 2, the RHB and RHR. The RHB is external uconnect, RHR has built-in uconnect.

What is the 3 letter code front lower right corner of actual radio?
Based on that code we can figure if you have a 430 (RBZ, RHB) or a 730 (REN RHR) series
The 430 series have an external Uconnect module the 730 is all integrated.

My 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 had the RER 730N
It also had built in Uconnect & hands free
it was the best High Speed Radio available at that time
( 2008 RER was Low Speed Can Bus ), ( High & Low Can Bus are not interchangeable )
2009 was the very first year that any Chrysler vehicles had the High Speed Can Bus, & only the Ram & 1 or 2 Jeep models had it

I bought a used RER 730N and tried to install it in my 2009 ram that has the same radio. But the one I bought doesnt work in my truck.
The part # 05064401AH and I'm not sure why it won't work in my truck. The screen turns on with the dodge symbol but I can't turn on the radio or anything else.

From what i found on the all-knowing Google encyclopedia, that's a low speed bus radio, see this thread, it explains it some

Ya, I thought so.. at least I know now to check the part # and the model # aswell.
They both have the exact same connections so I thought it was all good.

I went back and reread that thread and thought, hey I don't think I ever did sell the RHR I had for sale, not sure. If you're interested in one, let me know and I'll dig thru the garage this week and see if I still have it. Heck, if I do, I think I was asking $325 for it, but shoot me an offer.

Ya but the RHR won't work in my 2009 unless I change the antenna. I would need one from a 2011 or 2012.
This RER i bought was from a 2008 charger which would of been the low speed canbus b. I should of checked the part number too

I know it’s an old thread. Checking to see how it went. I have a 2011 ram that had an aftermarket radio in it. The build sheet states a 730n. I purchased multiple ones and they all do nothing except show the dodge start screen and then nothing. The connectors have all match up.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Dave

My first thought is these radios have two different communication speeds, referred to as a low speed or high speed bus. Do you know what type of vehicle the radios came out of? This thread has some more info,

Or post the part # and i can let you know what speed it is

*P05091656AC* Is the number on the radio

Yep, that's a low speed for a Chrysler 200, Dodge Avenger, etc., won't work, need one from a Ram, T&C, Caravan, Wrangler, Nitro and a couple others I can't think of at the moment
