Yes they are that bright.. as for actual lighting of the roadway itself.. kinda. What I mean by that is, they don't light up the road in the same manner the stock halogens did because of the way the led bulbs are designed.

Dont get me wrong.. i can shut my headlights off going down the road, and it appears as if im driving with all my lights off in full moon light. I can still see just the same way. They are more like a flood light, like the outer edges of a light bar. They definitely make road signs very clear and visable to read from a distance up until your literally right under the sign. I wouldn't change them for nothing, unless of course they went out lol.

I also have white/amber switch-back turns up front that do well with lighting up the outer edges of the ditch lines due to the design of the reflective backing in the light socket itself. There's a portion of it that if you put these switch-backs in a certain way, it bounces light right to the ditches. Kinda nice imo.

With the heads, fogs and turns all lit up.. I definitely have no issues seeing anything in front of me. It is very well lit. :favorites13:

I was thinking they were like that. Thanks a lot for the info..

I may do this for my '14 with quads. Have you had any issues with how they are aimed or people flashing their bights at you?

Yea.. I have my headlights adjusted properly and every now an then I'll get someone flashing me thinking I have my brights on, because even though they're properly adjusted.. these LED's are bright with all the light reflecting off the chrome bezel inside the assembly.

Ok, that is what I was thinking. I may do those headlights with the pod LED fogs.

I have the Opt7 LED bulbs in my fogs. I like them a lot. They're crazy bright and really light up the road....way more then the stock halogens. You can see the comparison in the one pic below....it's a pretty big difference. The LED bulb do change up the fog's focal point and scatter a little, but not in a way it blinds on coming traffic.

Nice.

If I didn't have Hids already I'd definetley consider the opt7's.

On my 2014 projectors, they don't fit in the high beams due to the dust cap. I didn't try it in the low because I have HIDs in there that I like.

I'm going off of memory here so forgive me.. but isn't the high beam further in the housing than the low beam? If that's the case then the lows definitely won't fit. But I thought people said these are the same size as the factory bulb.

I did notice that the Amazon link posted above did not have the 9012 size for the Opt7 bulbs. I hate that the 9012 is such a rare bulb, it is the brightest and most technologically advanced halogen tho, but still.. it's impossible to find aftermarket fitment.

Man.. Is it just me or is any thread regarding headlights (unless painting them) incomplete and leaves too any questions on the table. I have posted legitimate questions in other threads - this one included, and all are dead ends..

I think the problem is that there are 3 different types of headlamps for our trucks. There are projectors, quads, and dual. I have the dual headlamps. Trying to get answers for these are difficult. I have LEDS for the fogs, the stock halogen for the lowbeam/highbeam (they are one bulb in the dual). I would love to get LED lowbeam/highbeam bulbs (H13 I believe) for my truck, just cant seem to find the answer I'm looking for. I don't want to blind people, but I need to see.

I read somewhere that a 9006 bulb (which Opt7 does sell) will fit into a 9012 socket just fine, but one of the tabs of a 9012 must be trimmed to fit a 9006 socket. Dont know how true this is.. just what I've heard.

same boat here. most are either quads or projectors. I'm looking for a direct replacement( hopefully bulb only) that gives me a lot more output. Also can I run fogs only?

For you guys with projectors, the OPT7 LED's will not fit in the housing. You either have to remove the dust cap and leave it off, or you can make one, which is described on another thread on here... http://www.ramforum.com/f41/opt7_lights-76901/ The Quad light housings will accept them just fine and still be able to use the dust cap. I'm not sure about the Dual light housings.

And, FYI... newegg.com has the H11 LED's on sale for $89.99 now through 12-26.
