Hey all, so i know this transfercase has been discussed lots over the years but I cant seem to get an answer to my question.
MY 2013 1500 4X4 just cant seem to get working 4 wheel drive. The truck has a 6 inch lift and 35s. its a sport 6 speed with the bw 44-44 transfercase with auto 4x4. When i turn my switch to 4 auto or 4 lock it will show it as activated but then I will just sit there and spin in 2wd.
When my truck is in 2wd I can crawl under the truck and spin the front driveshaft with no resistance. When I put the truck in 4 lock I crawl under and the front driveshaft wont spin which all seems normal. When im in 4 lock and try to drive on ice or snow, I have someone outside of the truck and the front driveshaft does not spin to match the rear and only matches front wheel speed. I can never actually feel like 4wd is trying to activate if that makes sense. To me its seems like the clutches in the transfercase are burnt and cant actually grab. I drained the fluid and it came out clean and didnt smell burnt. I have no trouble codes or lights on. Im still convinced I need a new transfercase but if anyone has any other tests let me know.
