Had forgotten to drop couple of pics so here i go.

Finally did a headlight aligment after the bumper/winch cooilover adjustment so she's back where i should have the lights pointing too.

She's a litte dirty as i haven't washed her in prob 3-4 weeks. Haven't gone offroading with the truck since last month so i'm missing that action.

While we wait for spring time i bought couple of hardtail bikes and started teaching the kiddo some of the basics of ridding cross country in our local MTB trails.
Don't worry the kickstands are gone now :)

My daugthers/wife really don't like anything that relates to offroad very much but my son does so i'll be taking him as my trail pal more often, we're doing a lot of walks in dirt roads with the RC cars and now the bikes, will also add more real offroad time soon :)

Planning to hit a super mild road to the Santiago peak summit in couple of weeks. It's been years since i've been so that will be a good start

Went to Santiago Peak Summit today. It'll be raining this coming week and i didn't want to chance it for more rain the other one so what that heck the trail is only 40 min from home, then what typically used to take me 1.5 hours before with conventional shocks in my modded Jeep Wrangler with 15 psi in the tires to take all the blows out of the road took me only 1 hour today with the RAM on Kings at 30 PSI lol :)

Trail is mild at most sections and rough on a few others because of sharp rocks. The Patagonias were at home here, my only complaint with the tires is really they wear out super quick, other than that zero issues with balancing or anything else, they've been set it and forget it, will keep rotating every 3k miles. That's about it.

The weather was calling for rain and we've got a little more than rain :) it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to get there all the way to the peak of the mountain. It's the new local offroading spot since the city closed Holy Jim and sourrouding offshots for good.

Switching out the Milestar Patagonias and going back to BFG KO2 same size 315/70/17, C rated. Figure I can get decent money for the Pats since they have 13/32 tread left. Just Bought 4 KO2's so I'll keep one Patagonia as my spare. Will never buy cheap tires again except perhaps to keep as spare :)

There you go, fresh from Americas Tires with the Pasts in the truck bed and my my full spare/tools and chit. It's been almost a year i was running the Pats. Incredilble how the ears get used to the wuh wuh wuh wuh from the MT knobs i swear i thought my ears were plugged :). it's refreshing not to have that noise or feeling those knobs right before getting to a stop. Day and night difference.

oh yes they ride a lot better than the mud terrains. I'm running them at 36psi.

I can't remember 100% but you set the PSI threshold to a different level correct? I'm trying to go as low as possible for cold psi without setting off the light.

Yep back when I was running the 37's I did set the threshold to 32psi with Alphaobd so the low psi will kick at 25psi or below. If yours is stock then check your psi in the door -7. Below that value - 7 the low psi will display and you'll have to pump back up to that recommended value +1 to shut it off.

Mine was 39psi stock so the low psi will trip at 32 psi or below. I could lower to 33 psi before but the moment I was touching 32 the low psi will kick then I needed to pump backup to 40 to shut it off.

Thanks! My door is 39/40 psi. Using the Toyo TRA table and my weights im good to run these down pretty low. Ill drop them to like 36 cold!

Yeah i'm checking them out at 36psi. Techincally C rated should be 2535lbs at 35psi, in my sidewall i have max 2535 at 45psi, but the specs call for 2535 at 35psi. I'll see today if they feel mushy around corners and if they do i'll increase to 40.

I dropped mine from 50 to 40 since I was wearing the centers of the rear a bit too much. At 50 they felt fine ride wise, which surprised me. I'm hoping 40 is better and I don't have to mess with them again. I'm above load capacity as it is with room to spare so I'm more focused on not chewing these tires up prematurely with improper pressure.

You're running 285/75/17 right ? the TRA spec calls for 2835lbs at 50PSI for a C rated tire in that size, So that's a lot more weight holding than stock and not needed for your application.
What do you have in your placard stock, 275/60/20 P ? if so since you're runing LT tires, derate the 2601lbs by 10% (This is per TRA specs), and that gives you 2341lbs as the amount of weight your tire needs to support to match what the factory did.
So at 40 PSI you're exceeding that number (2430lbs), and technically at 38psi the tire should be rated at 2344lbs.

Now if you take 2344 * 2 = 4688lbs. Your max GAVR in the back is more likely 3900lbs. More than plenty from the tires at 38psi to support your max weight at the axel.

3900 / 2 = 1950lbs per tire. This should be very very min the tire can support. you're exceeding that number by far even at 35psi.

upload_2021-3-14_19-48-25.png

In my case i run a 315/70/17 C so the spec is different, should be 2535lbs at 35psi, so at 36psi i'm running the max the tire will support per TRA specs. Past 35psi there is no more load increase in my case up to 45psi sidewall max. Technically past the max per TRA pressure for a C rated (2535lbs@35psi) you're accounting for speed, mpg etc up to the sidewall max printed in the tire.

I may try them at 40psi andf see how they feel, but i'll chalk them at 36psi first and take note, then bump them up at 40, chalk and take notes, then drive and see if the feel good. For me the issue with running them at 40spi is that most of the times i go from the pavement to the dirt and i don't air down, so at 40psi rocky terrain might be a little harsh, at 36psi things feel better, at 28 seems perfect for speed/offroad, that is at least my experience with 315/70/17 in this truck. the 37x12.5/17 could run at hwy speed at 32psi all day long. I may need to bump the min TPMS threshold to 35psi with these ones so i get the low psi light at 28psi and below. Maybe more if the tires feel good at 40 psi and i don't see less chalk in the middle of the tire tread at 40psi, i'll bump the threshold to stock. Will see.

Awesome. Those are the Raptor tires, right? Part #58424? Those are the tires that I've been planning on switching to when my current set wear out, along with new 17" wheels. I'll be tracking how they work out for you for sure.

Yep. I'll do my best to document the experience. I'm loving them so far.
