Hey everyone,
I bought a 2014 Ram series with around 111,000 miles on it in Michigan (Truck originally came from Idaho as a government forestry truck) . After I left the dealership that I bought it from I loaded my car up on a car dolly and hooked it up to my truck to haul home. Well, I got approximately 100 miles or so from the dealership (with the car on the car hauler), and My truck started knocking in the Engine area and then the Service Engine light came on. So, I went by O'Reilly up there and they scanned it and the code P0521 came up. And so, I called the dealership that I just bought the truck from, and they said it might be a bad sensor and that they reset the code all the time and it would be okay to just continue driving it. So that is what I did and then I got another 100-150 miles down the road and the engine started knocking again and the check engine light came on again. So, I again, stopped at another O'Reilly store to have them scan it with the same code pop up, so this time I replaced the sensor that the dealership said that might be bad. Well, I got going again another couple hundred miles, to have the same thing happen again. When we were driving down the interstate going a good speed then come to a real slow stop/go traffic, that is when it seem to activate the knocking & check engine light coming on. I had to stop several times on the side of the road due to this problem. Well, I finally made it home to weakley county, TN and now When I barely get the truck on the road (not hauling anything), it is still knocking and my check engine light is no longer coming on. What are your thoughts on this issue that I have?
