2015 Ram - Supernova V4 LED Lights - issues

Well...I took the plunge on a Black Friday deal from Headlight Revolution (HR). I purchased the Following:


2009 - 2018 Ram LED Fog Light Upgrade - Supernova V.4
2009 - 2018 Dodge Ram Reflector Single Beam LED H11 Low Beam Bulbs Upgrade - Supernova V.4

The H11's were on backorder so I had to wait until around Christmas time to get everything. In the meantime, HR posts on their website that the Supernova V4's aren't compatible with a 2015 Ram thanks to the Canbus system.

I speak to their staff on the phone and was told to take truck to dealer and get the TSB 08-047-15 completed which would up the Voltage to 13.8 that the electronics/headlights see. So I did that....but was also told the lights MIGHT not work due to 2015's being very finicky.

Installed the Supernova V4's in the headlights and the fog lights. Don't get any flickering...but occasionally I will be driving along at night and I'll lose low beam headlights. High beams work and fog lights work...but headlights go black.

SO...back in contact with HR and am attempting to swap out the Supernova V4 headlights with the GTR HID lights for the 2015. Hopefully they will work and I can drive at night again...or its back to stock (UGHGGHHHH...don't like them)

Weird. I have the v3's in my 2018 with the canbus adapter and have zero issues.

Mid post checked them out and that is weird how it's only the 15's they won't work on. They don't list the v3's so I can't confirm if it's the same.

You do have one other option tho. If you plan on adding anymore upgrades that require something to be turned on you could always get the alphaobd app ($50) and either the Elm..... Obd2 reader (~$30) or the obdlink mx (~60) and program/enable the truck to run LED's

Because FCA uses a lot of the same parts and electronics throughout their lineups our trucks have the programming already in them to run LED'S and HID'S but FCA has just never optioned our trucks with them. So the alphaobd app originally designed for the alpha romaos crowd to make changes to their car's someone realized it works for us. So by using the obd2 reader and the app we can connect to most modules in our trucks and activate features that either come in higher model trucks or in some cases wasn't offered at all. By accessing the body control module you can scroll through and enable LED.'S for just about any bulb in our trucks.




You can also change the tpms thresholds, program the fogs to stay on with your highs

Changing your settings in Alfa will fix the problem whether its a 2009-2018

What it will do is turn off the PWM function so your LED bulbs don't flicker or shut off while driving

I know I'm dragging up an older post but I've ran into a similar issue with my 2015 Ram. I have the Supernova V.3's in the lows, highs, and fogs. I've never had problems with them flickering or dimming, but I have had 3 of the low beam LED bulbs go bad. The drivers and PWM modules are fine, just the H11 LED's have gone out. I also bought the switchback front turn signal LED bulbs, but I could never get them to work right. They are sending me V.4's under warranty, and mentioned the TSB. So does this Alpha OBD app really work and I can program the BCM to run LED's in all positions???? Also, am I correct saying if I turn on the LED function on my truck, I wont need the PWM modules for the headlights, and resistors for the turn signal LED's???
