I'm new to the Dodge community. I previously owned a F150, had multiple problems, thought I'd try out Rams as so many people rave about them. So went out, purchased a 2016 Dodge Ram Sport Demo. Right off the bat I've been having multiple issues. I live in Canada, so my first winter, the driver side window froze, couldn't open it. After a few minutes when the truck warmed up, the window fell completely in the door. Took it to the Dodge dealership, they said this is a known issue and Chrysler has not done anything about it. However, the dealership replaced the entire window as it was scratched from the drop, and the entire track system. That was fine. Few months later, the truck wouldn't start. Called a tow truck (tow service was included in the purchase of the vehicle for 5 years), needed a boost but since then truck has been starting fine. Every time i start the truck in the winter, the engine rattles upon start and then there's a high pitch squealing noise for about a minute, and when it warms up, it goes away. Now we're into summer, and all of a sudden one day, I started the truck. and the engine light comes on with a warning about a fuel sensor issue, and the gas gauge drops to empty. ALSO there are 2 recalls on the truck. #1 is the cruise control - which MIGHT Not shut off if engaged and #2 the power lock on the tailgate can be faulty, causing the tailgate to fly open and all your **** falling out the back (WHICH HAPPENED TO ME). I'm thankful the service with this particular Chrysler dealership I've been going to in Richmondhill has been very good to me. Fixed all my issues without a fuss. But these issues seem to be ongoing and I've had this truck for a year and a half to date. I'm worried what kind of issues I'll face once the warranty is done! Anyone else experience any of this stuff?

I have the same truck, in the US version, and have not had those issues. I bought it about 11 months ago. the only service it's had at the dealer was operator error when changing my speedo to match the bigger tires. hopefully I haven't just jynxed my truck

I've got a '16 Reb with 30K miles and haven't experienced any of your issues. Granted, after the cruise control recall work was done a month or so ago, my cruise on/off switch stopped working as did the tailgate cam! Both worked perfectly before the rig went in...weird, huh? Regardless, all issues were corrected free of charge and all is well.

Nobody can tell you what out-of-warranty problems you'll have, but I doubt switching brands will make any difference as vehicles are so much more complicated these days. Systems are so interlinked, too, it can be a challenge diagnosing faults.

My goal is to keep the Reb for 10 years, so I got the MaxCare warranty...I hope I never have to use it! I'm happy that you've got a good dealer relationship; that's vital these days. Being a regular visitor to this forum will help, too, as there's lot of knowledge here!

Good luck and post some pics of your rig!

Have you considered an extended FCA warranty?

Unfortunately that's the chance you take when you buy a relatively new used truck. You could be buying someone else's problems. Glad you have a great dealer to work with though. That's huge!

All vehicles/ brands can have issues. I'm a Ford man at heart and they are not perfect either. After a year and a half of ownership, besides for a few issues the dealer says is normal, (i disagree but have not pressed the issus) all is well and I'm very happy with my ram. I'm still all smiles and no regrets

Before you consider purchasing any type of "Max Care" I would warn you to read the provisions and the restrictions of the warranty very carefully. These type warranties have been the subject of quite a few conversations lately, regarding their restrictions on using any aftermarket parts; oil filters, air filters, mufflers etc. Apparently it appears that anything you install that is not OEM could be a reason for them to cancel your warranty.

Hate to be this way but, you caused the window issue.

Truck wouldn't start? Dead battery? Batteries have a lifespan.

The tailgate falling open, that shouldn't have happened.

Plug the damn thing in,that'll help with the belt squeal and rattles when you start it at -20C.They all have block heaters in Canada, find the cord on the pass side, dig it out,and make sure it's plugged in when it's -15C or colder.I live in Alberta and if plugging it in ,in the winter bothers you,buy yourself a timer for your block heater, and set it to come on 3 or 4 hours before you need the truck. Some of your issues are self induced as stated, lol.
