How do I check eco mode is turned on?
Nothing turns on in the dash to.indicate if it's working.

IIRC, the setting for ECO mode to show up in the instrument cluster is in the UConnect setting under something like fuel savings or fuel economy. It's been a while since I have looked at a truck with the option. How do I check eco mode is turned on?

Did you get a CEL or are there any trouble codes in memory?I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Hemi. At times the engine light comes on and I lose the eco and miles driven on the dash. I can use the MDS manually with no problems. In checking for the eco mode while going 60 mph in "D" mode, the tach showed the rpms at 1250 rpm but no ECO reading.
I disconnect the battery and let it sit for 15 minutes and reconnect. Engine light goes off, mileage driven show, and all seems to work well. I am wondering why this is happening?
Is all working but the computer is not showing? Is it a weak connection somewhere? Or is it age? I am baffled but still love my Ram.
As 04 says, find out whats causing it to turn on the check engine light,it must be throwing a code.If it's throwing a code disconnecting the battery isn't doing you any favours,as that makes it harder to scan it for codes and find out what codes it's throwing.I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Hemi. Are you using the shift buttons on the steering wheel? If so, those override the "ECO" mode. If you just put it in Drive and go, without using the manual shift buttons, you should see the ECO light come on in the cluster. How do I check eco mode is turned on?

I thought there was a option in the radio settings about the eco light, doesn’t effect when it engages, just if you see the light on the dash. Are you using the shift buttons on the steering wheel? Not sure. Never really looked. Only things I have changed through UConnect are the colors on the screen and disabling the rain sensing wipers.I thought there was a option in the radio settings about the eco light, doesn’t effect when it engages, just if you see the light on the dash.
Update. Tow mode does not disable. Tried it.
Didn't check if engine actually went in MDS or not, but the eco light on cluster stays on with Tow Mode on or offThat's odd. I'll have to check if my truck behaves the same.
Heading out in the next hour or so.
