On my 2020 Classic Tradesman Quad cab I tried the washers... did not raise it high enough.
Took them out and tried trimming the seat hooks as shown by others. That didn’t work either.
Only by putting the washers in with the hooks trimmed am I able to get it to flip down.
Next time I order parts I might order a couple extra seat hooks and play with the trim links and bevel cuts to get it dialed in just right.
If that works smoothly and reliably then I’ll buy longer bolts to complete the job and have plenty of thread in those holes, but I believe even with the washer mod it’s fine.

In my unprofessional and often f'd up logic, the safety concern is not a factor. At first I was concerned about it, but then I realized that in both "normal" positions is that the hoop to hook location on the back wall is at the exact same place as a non-modded seat. Where I have concern is that the guys that use spacers to raise the whole seat. The hoop/hook location is now further down the opening and in a weaker spot. The hook metal is pretty sturdy though and don't even think that is concern.

I'm really not sure if you could screw this up. I'm the king of screwing something up... For those who have trimmed the seat back hooks and it didn't work, you either didn't take enough off or you aren't pulling on the seatback at the right point when you lift the seat bottom. Again, you just have to cut the tips of the hooks off flush with where the white nylon starts. Maybe 1/2" inch has to come off.
I took off plenty like I said upto where the plastic starts as many others have done. Quite aware off the point where it should release. Even with spacers it doesn't fold unless i loosen the bolts so back goes a little higher. Several other threads makes it look as though Ram is onto this mod as its newer trucks that have trouble getting this to work. Hell I was looking at another thread about sub boxes and guys are using 1 1/2" lift blocks to fit speakers under there now that I can see as being a potential issue
its the classic, sorry if I was getting pissy. I only tried the driver side so maybe the otherside is different? I also just found PN for the metal hook part and they are only 4 bucks so might get a couple and see if I can come up with something. Might be as simple as new mounting holes to lift them up and not need to mess with the seat mounts
Yes, 60/40 like the front. I can fold up drivers side separate from passenger. Not all or nothingDo you have a split back seat on your 2019? Mine is the basic solid bench rear seat. I didn't think there was a difference between the two in terms of this mod, but maybe there is?

Hopefully someone else can chime in on this..
I would think the only difference between the solid seat and the 60/40 is you have 4 hooks to trim as opposed to just two with the solid seat. You'd think the sweep, tilt and flip down is the same?
Do you remember what the bolt size is? At least the threadsThen I went back and replaced the seat anchor bolts with longer ones to compensate for fewer threads into the floor.

I think the original bolts (altho’ the parts diagram shows them as screws, go figure) are M12x1.75x50.50(mm).
So i would go with at least a 70-75mm long bolt instead of the 50.5mm one... I raised the front 3/4 of an inch and it comes out to approximately 19 mm... The back a bit more.
Kind of been forced into removing my rear seat in my 2018 2500 Crew cab I was trying to remove the passenger side rear c-pillar and dropped the screw all the way down. So now I have to take both parts of that pillar off to get the screw out so it doesn't rattle and drive me crazy I was looking at your post, were you able to get the seat back to lower just by cutting those clips you didn't actually have to raise the seat up with spacers like many others do? I would really rather not add some material to the seat. Thanks for any help on this.I'm all for modding your truck to how one see's fit, but I'm with you 100% on the seat mod if you choose to raise the back seat with spacers. Not only are you taking the hook/hoop orientation out of normal design position, you are moving the rear seat and occupants to a different position from where the side airbags were designed.

Yep, one piece seat. Instead that trimming up to the plastic piece does it, correct. And I hope I can find that screw. Crazy that area is not fully boxed around the screw, like 1/100 of a cent to add that little bit if plastic. No sir. If you trim the hooks on the seatback, you don't have to add spacers to raise the seat bottom. The job is super easy on the one piece crew cab rear bench seat. Like said above, if it's the 60/40 rear seat, you'll just have twice the work.
In regards to dropping the screw, I did something similar with my 2017 Ram 1500 on the rear pillar plastic trim. I dropped one of the screws down into internal oblivion, never to be found again. LOL. No rattles luckily.
I was also going to ask about not raising the seat and still works lol So why spacers then ? Glad I have not done mine yet with spacers :ONo sir. Wow, voice to text failed me in this. I had actually asked if trimming the metal up to the plastic piece was the correct amount to take off to ensure it works properly.
