So my father has recently purchased a 2019 eco diesel 1500 classic Ram with less than 9k miles on it. I was driving to the doctors this past Friday and it RANDOMLY stalls and SHUTS OFF. Won’t restart, and the dash is flashing “P” for park over and over as well saying it’s needs an oil change. I am watching my speed go from 70 to 45 on the freeway. I get over and off the freeway and car is completely useless but the battery works. No over heating happening, but I still check the dipstick and not a drop of oil. Haven’t had a oil change yet, everything is from the factory and definitely not a puddle of oil on my driveway before I left. Check under the truck and it is all wet all underneath the truck. Had it towed to the dealership, and they told me that the engine completely shut it self off to protect itself. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know what rights we have in California in regards to this??? I would like the entire engine replaced or a new vehicle, not new parts as the engine can be completely ruined, please and thank you in advance.

Sounds like whoever did the last oil change didn't do something right. You mentioned the underneath being wet. Did you confirm it was oil? Hopefully the dealership did the last maintenance and is willing to stand behind their workmanship.

It would be the oil from the factory. All the dealership said was the engine seized and they are not sure what the fluid is. Hoping someone might have some answers.

not very likely that a dealership shop would not know what the fluid is. maybe they dont want to commit to anything till they get some feedback from the mfr. since at only 9000 miles, every thing mechanical would still be the responsibility of FCA.
