I have a 2WD 5.7 1500 and want to level the truck without using spacers, and was pointed in the direction of the 5100 Series shocks. My buddy says the shocks will not level the truck, but after a phone call with tech support at 4 Wheel Parts they say it will. Anyone have any experience with them on 2WD Ram's and the ride height before and after?

I thought 5100’s were only for 4wd trucks.....

Yes no Bilstein on 2wd Maxtrac is the company you want to look for

You can still use Bilstein 5100's on a 2wd, but they won't be the exact same 5100's and also the shocks themselves won't lift/level you like they can on 4wd's.

The front Bilstein part number for 2wd's is 24-274999 and the rear is 24-275002 if you want the front and back to match.

But on the 2wd's the shocks/struts don't produce lift - to facilitate that you can use lift springs like Rough Country #9232 or spacers like Motofab DR2-2WD

Kurek and Ram1500rsm are 100% correct on the 2wd shocks not lifting the truck.

I used this bilstein part# to match my needs per Maxtrac shock heights info.

I used bilstein 24-062107. This shock is for an extra 2" of lift on the front. Now the second part of the problem is you need a bushing and a 3" tbar pressed into the bottom of the shock so it will install into the LCA. The tbar that comes installed into the shock will not fit the LCA bracket. It's not wide enough.
