2WD Reg Cab/Short Bed 8HP70 Driveshaft Prices

Has anyone noticed the insane prices for these drive shafts? Stock replacement is near a grand, used are almost impossible to find, and when you do find one it's over $500 for one with huge mileage. I see aftermarket replacements that are supposed to fix a high speed imbalance, bu5t they are also a grand. It's the last piece I need for my trans swap and the prices and availability are silly bad.

Talk to Matt at Moes,and don't use the stock driveshaft,as it has a bad rep for flying apart,and taking out transmissions/gas tanks etc..It's the weak link in a regular cab shortbox 2 wheel drive truck,with it's unsupported slip joint in the driveshaft itself.The shaft starts to turn into a skipping rope at higher speeds,because of the way the slip joint is incorporated into the shaft.

I have an OEM drive shaft out of a RCSB 14 RT that was replaced at 50k miles. If you choose not to follow @Wild one advice.

I purchased my replacement shaft from Moe's and have had zero issues and my truck has been to Mexico a few times.
