Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice. I have a 2013 RAM 1500 with 4.7 V8. I had a check engine light and it has been determined that the fuel pressure sensor is bad. Sounded like a simple fix until I called the local dealership and found out that Mopar no longer makes the part. Yes, apparantly they just said screw you to all of us who have trucks that arent brand new. I called Ram customer service, only to be told to "check the local junk yards" because the part was discontinued. I haven't been able to find an aftermarket supplier either. I guess my question is, has anyone else here had this same experience? And did you find an aftermarket sensor? Or am I doomed to now drive a truck with only 70,000 miles on it with the check engine light on. I can't believe a manufacturer would quit making parts for their vehicles without first making sure there is an aftermarket option. I have bought my last Ram / Dodge product.

Not sure it's 100% accurate, but for 20$ it may be worth a shot.

The Ebay drop downs, when I select your truck, year and engine, shows the same part that fits the Hemi trucks as fitting your 4.7.

Thank you for the information, I'll look into it. Do they show the part as being interchangeable between the 4.7 and 5.7? Ive seen several sensors available for the 5.7 but when I enter my info it says that it wont fit the 4.7. Thanks again.

Of course, I can't actually confirm anything, but i've been through this same thing recently with my electric power steering rack/pinion.

According to the local Ram dealer, the rack/pinion for my 2013 was discontinued, and unavailable. I asked the guy, "so, what, I just need to scrap the truck? Like, it can't be fixed?", and his reply was that they could get me a good deal on a new truck!

I saw on other websites that the same aftermarket rack/pinion part numbers were listed as fitting everything from a 2013 up to 2021 Ram classics.

So, i took a chance and paid 2 grand for a new rack/pinion that was listed for 2021 Ram Classic.

It's been working perfectly for about 4 months so far! 2000$ was a big risk, but it paid off.

Wow! Ive had the same response from multiple dealers. I said the same thing, So, I'm supposed to get rid of my 70,000 mile truck because of a 100 dollar sensor? I have no idea what has happened to common sense anymore. Thank you for your response, and the information.

Whatever you try and whatever the results, please follow up and and post back here. I'm very curious, as it seems to be Ram's MO to discontinue needed common parts.

I went to the site I used to determine that the 2021 Rack/Pinion would work in my 2013, and entered your 4.7 liter truck info, to see what it lists as fitting.

Here is the site. McKinney, TX Ram:

To condense a long story, into short form, They show 3 part numbers for your truck. You can see at the top of the listing highlighted and in green text, that it indicates these parts fit the 4.7L truck.

First, the oldest is 68210330AA. It appears to have been superceded by 2 newer part numbers:

Next: Is 68210332AA, which is the 2nd newest version. It was superceded by 68210338AA.

Since most every other site ive seen, including Ebay lists 68210332AA as fitting the 5.7 Hemi, I doubt there is any difference between the Hemi and 4.7 fuel pressure sensor.

Of course, this assumes that this is actually the part you need, and that my research has been correct. I've been wrong before.

All of the aftermarket sensors from Ebay, Amazon, etc, show them as being direct replacements for OEM 68210332AA. So, most likely the aftermarket versions will work with both the 4.7 an 5.7 Hemi.

So, it's been two months. Did it work? Did you scrap the truck?

Just wanted to post a quick update. Ram care is completely incompetent and useless. Their answer to me is to find one at a junk yard. My truck has 75,000 miles and the fuel pressure sensor is bad, what are the odds of finding a good one in a junk yard? I would say about 0%. Ram has apparantly stopped making these parts without first making sure that they are available in the aftermarket. This majorly irresponsible for a major auto maker. Between the horrible customer service and complete incompetence, I have purchased my last Ram product.

3 months and you haven't figured out a fix yet. If the 5.7 and 4.7 use the same sensor,i'm sure if you put your mind to it,you should be able to adapt the 5.7's sensor to your 4.7,but if not, don't let the door hit you on the way out :waytogo:

So, you didn't see post #8 above, like 3 months ago?

Or did you order that part and it didn't fit?

Have you looked at yours and compared it to the pic of the sensor McKinney Mopar says fits your truck. PN# 68210332AA:

This one, that can be purchased pretty much anywhere, including on Amazon:

I think he'd just rather get on here and yell, instead of actually trying to fix it.Hell it can't be that hard to adapt a 5.7's sensor to his existing fuel line with a bit of thinking

So far there have been plenty of indications that the 4.7 and 5.7 use the same part# fuel pressure sensor. I think Steve is just going to have to accept that there are no sure things in life, order the thing and see if it fits.

After the last few years of inflation, the price of the OEM part is barely equal to two ****** meals at McDonalds. At least, in my neighborhood with a 20$ + minimum wage. The price of the aftermarket ebay part below is like, 2 lattes at starbucks and a gas station burrito.

The aftermarket ones on Ebay also list the part as fitting both the 4.7 and 5.7.

This ought to be funny when he does come back Ken, lets see what excuse he comes up with :waytogo: :Big Laugh: You already did all the work for him,and he's still yipping and yelling, maybe he needs somebody to hold his hand and draw him a picture:cheers:

I addressed that In the first paragraph of post #8.

Ram/Mopar sucks, really really bad about keeping track of parts interchangeability between years/models/engines.

Specifically anecdotal but first hand info. My electronic power steering rack **** the bed. ALL of the Mopar parts retailers said the part# that fits my truck was discontinued permanently. unavailable.

I called several dealerships and they all said that it couldn't be replaced. Rairdon Dodge in Bellingham suggested I part it out and sell it, and they'd give me a "great deal" on a new truck!

BUT, O'Reilly Auto parts showed their unavailable, discontinued, remanufactured Dorman rack as fitting ALL Rams from 2013 up to the 2019 and all the newer Ram classic DS models. I called O'Reilly up to regional manager level, but they said th couldn't get them anymore, period!

So, I took a chance and spent 2000$ on a new one from Mopar parts giant.com, that the website said "doesn't fit your truck".

It went in plug-n-play and had been working perfectly for 5 months so far. My trucks computer recognized it instantly and initiated it automatically.

The point of all that is: Ram parts sellers websites have no idea what is interchangeable. But alot of **** is, that they say ain't. You gotta do independent research.

Yipping and yelling??? Wow, some real intelligence in here. Actually, I have ordered from Napa, Amazon, Ebay. None work for the 4.7 engine. Or did you miss the part where I stated that NO aftermarket part exsists? The fuel rail fitting is a different size for the 4.7 than the 5.7. The ebay listings are wrong, trust me ive tried several. Maybe instead of insulting people you could try offering sone intelligent information? And if you have none, then move along.
