Did this on my 2012 Ram and my wife's 2012 Jeep Wrangler works like a charm, I inserted a picture below of where i mounted the on off toggle switch that i installed on my Ram to act as a kill switch for the remote start for when the truck is being serviced. it's like that hole was put there just for this switch by the factory. The hole is on the knee bolster that you have to remove to gain access to install the DBALL right near the computer connector.

I think the toggle switch is to disable the remote start to avoid injury while working on the truck.

So after you start it with the remote and get in the vehicle, what do you do with your key fob? I'm assuming you put it in the ignition and turn it to the on position and away you go? Or do you have to shut the truck off and restart it?

I'm sitting at the computer about to order but I wanted to find this out first.

Also, can the truck be remotely shut off as well?

Put your key in the ignition and turn to on. If you press the brake before doing that the truck will turn off. You can turn the truck off with the fob by pressing lock button three times again.

So im really interested in this. I read through alot of the pages, but I was curious if anyone has any issues with it? I read about the clock but I think that was all I remember. Will it mess with any of the codes already in the truck, will it mess with your warranty? Itll be nice to have the truck warmed up in the winter before work early in the morning and leave the a/c on when it get hot as hell when I needa take the kiddos somewhere...

Ive had 0 problems with it! its great

i dont see how there could be any messing with warranty, it doesnt change codes or anything and theres no way this little thing will cause anything else to fail i believe.

its a really handy mod for 90 bucks! it makes me hate days that are -25 alot less haha

Does anyone have a TPMS light when switching over to the key? That's the only thing I've noticed so far. When I put the key in, turn it on and step on the brake, the TPMS lights up and displays "tire pressure" in the display for a second. Then it disappears. Doesn't come back on till I remote start it again, then the cycle repeats itself..

Mine does the same thing. When I had a factory remote start put in my 2008 charger the tpms came on and had to go back so they could reprogram the tpms, but this is because the tpms light stayed on. Here it only comes on when you turn the key and then it goes away so not to worried about it.

Yup. Just get in the truck, insert the keyfod, turn it to run, and go. If you accidentally hit the brake before turning the key on, the truck will stop. NOTE:: on mine, if I hit the brake, I found that I have to open the door to turn off the RAP power before starting or it sometimes won't start. I think it has to do with the immobilizer.

The truck runs for 15 minutes, but you can shut it off with the remote by pressing the lock button three times.
