Over the last several months I have been collecting and compiling the engine data of my 5.7L HEMI to create an oil temperature, engine speed, and oil pressure correlation table. I am publishing this table in hopes it can help someone else. I cannot confirm these values are applicable to any engine besides my own, but I am looking for feedback. Please let me know how accurate these numbers are in relation to your HEMI engine.

Things of note...

Oil filter was OEM Mopar MO-339 with 5W-20 oil. Different filters and oil grades would likely have different numbers.

All pressure values were obtained by recording many data points over a wide range of temperatures and engine RPM, then extrapolating any missing data and fine tuning the results. Due to slight variations in engine performance and the oil pressure display rounding to the nearest whole number, an accuracy of +/- 1 PSI is the best I could get.

The choice of colors does not indicate (good) or (bad) pressures, it was just for differentiating purposes.

The following values on the chart are estimates based strictly on estimation only,
  • Pressures above 3,000 RPM and below 212*F due to potential damage from high revving a cold engine.
  • Pressures at 600 RPM (Idle) and below 104*F due to the ECU restricting low idle at colder temperatures.
  • All pressures at oil temperatures above 218*F

Good work with the chart Dman. Those pressures are about average for a healthy hemi.
Thank-you for documenting them as well as you have

Can anyone explain why my 2009 oil pressure readings are all in KPA?
My idle pressure is 56 kpa. And my run reading at 2000 rps is around 146 kpa.
I've tried toggling through my evic to switch units, but it only gives me metric and English option which only changes my avg MPG reading.
I realize those reading would be extremely low in psi and yes I do have an intermittent P0521 code. My truck runs good l, I'm not having low oil issues or any leaks underneath.
I'm currently running valvoline restore and protect 5w20 and I'm due right now for a change at 247000 km.
Should I change my pressure sensor ?
My oil temp is readihg 81°c
Coolant is 91°c
And trans temp is at 43°c at idle, usually climbs to 52°c on highway

The SAE / English version should change your temps and pressures to SAE measurements, but then again i'm not that familiar with an 09's evic.Put it on the SAE version and see if it changes your engine temps to farenheight,if it does i'd think it'd also change your pressures to psi to

Ya I gave it another try and there is no option to switch units to psi.
Another note, I got my oil change today and my oil pressure reading increased to 80kpa at idle 600 rpm and 258- 300+ kpa at 1500-2000 rpm.

Post a pic of your evic with it set to SAE. I'm not sure but it might be in the settings on your radio and not the evic itself.

Something seems off/bad
37psi = 255 kpa
146 kpa = 21psi @ 2000 rpm
