I'm wanting 5" tips for my truck, but just having a hard time pulling the trigger lol.. I'm
Wanting them more for appearance but I do hear they make the truck sound better too, I'm just like do I just say screw it and get them or put that money towards headers and a tunner? Regardless I'm gonna get headers and a tunner but baby steps first. Anybody regret buying tips?

Do it man, they fill the bumper out much better! The only thing I regret is not washing mine enough during the winter so they've began to rust (they're black).

Now mine had a 3" inlet like the summit ones, can't find them at the moment.

Summit sells some too
Summit Racing Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip 3" Inlet Weld on 5" Outlet Polished | eBay

Now this is a lot easier install option when going from a 2.5" exhaust pipe to a 3" inlet...
I was going to go with a 5" MRBP tip but its a 4" inlet.... I think it will look really goofy going from 2.5" up to 4" then the upsize of the tip to 5". Too many diameter changes for me that will not look smooth without major fab work.

OP, keep in mind going to larger exhaust tips does not necessarily increase the sound... It depends on the tips.
I went from a Magnaflow 5" tip to a MBRP 5" tip and the sound decreased dramatically. Just fyi.
Tips are for looks more than anything else, and for that they are definitely worth it. ;)

1st pic Magnaflow, the rest are MBRP from Moe's Performance:

Post some pics and how you did it.

You mean how it got welded up?

When I bought my truck, the previous owner took the resonators off. The pipe was already 2.5"ish..lol. My exhaust shop just expanded them to fit the tips.

I can get some pics when get home. If I remember .lol

I guess if you can't afford $70 tips, You probably shouldn't be buying headers and/or a tuner. lol

The answer is No.
Hell No!
Not in a million years will that extra diameter exhaust tip do a single thing for you truck.

So what? Mostly, we do things because we can, we want to and it makes us happy.

If you want, can afford it, then do it.

I have a 22" Magnaflow on my truck and when I put the 5" tips on I noticed that the sound got a lot lower in tone and the "bark" was gone. I really like the sound now a lot better than before. The tips aren't cheap, but the quality is excellent and I always try to support our site sponsors(Moe's). You'll never find better service anywhere. I am under NO allusion that they raised my hp by 50% or by any probably, but I like the way they look.

Never said I don't have the money... Just can't see if it's worth paying that for 5" tips if it's worth the $200? I'm doing the tuner n headers regardless

Ohh, I agree. That's why I bought the ones I did

Here's I pic I took when I was showing my LED reverse pods.

IF cash is not an issue why not do it all at one time? Full exhaust and Tune and maybe add a quality CAI?
