Figured it's about time I start my own thread on this. Currently looking at the 6.4 SRT longblock with max effort cam from MMX. As soon as @WadXpress gets his all sorted out and tuned, I'll feel more comfortable pulling the trigger lol. I'd definitely like to be able to wait for warmer temps. This is my daily driver, but its got engine issues and its a matter of time before it craps out.

I'd like to get the longblock and build it up with new parts as much as reasonably close to a full motor so that I can just pull the old and drop in the new motor easily over a weekend. I have the below parts list. Any suggested modifications to the list appreciated.

New radiator would benefit the list although some may say its not necessary breaking-in and tuning a new engine is not the time to find out.

Continental 49345 included a separate idler pulley as a kit
I’m not sure how many idler pulleys a 6.4 needs.

I'll check out my radiator and see what condition it's in. Transmission cooler as well.

I do have some duplicate parts in the list for now and some things that I'm not 100% sure of. The exact pulleys is one. I need to check the mopar suppliers and revise. Rockauto has a ton of generic choices it seems.

I'll keep updating this list and get it more organized as well. My thoughts are that it could be very useful for folks looking for replacement parts as well. I just dumped it from my notes application on my phone. I compiled it through a scattered thought process sitting on the couch one night.

Oil dipstick tube is discontinued, so I'll need to dig around on here for different Lokar replacement suggestions

Transmission cooler is part of the A/C condensor,to replace it,you're buying the whole condensor.

Yeah, just got off the phone with Lokar. Tried getting them to build me a custom 35" one for a 6.4 challenger custom turbo setup as you suggested wording in the past. They're not doing any custom orders right now as they're 6 to 10 weeks backlogged with catalog production. I asked if they had anything catalog wise that long that i could maybe swap the ends out. He then stated they would not be able to make anything custom or catalog past 24" anyways. To the brake booster we go.

I would look into an all aluminum double row radiator at that point. You’ll be building quite a bit of heat. Only read of 2 or 3 guys with this one but haven’t seen complaints. https://wizardcooling.com/2009-18-dodge-ram-1500-aluminum-radiator-gas-motors/
Any idea if that's direct fit or would that require some bracket modding? Nice to finally see something listed for the gasers. Little pricey, may have to wait on that one but appreciate the insight.

Edit: Just read that it's direct fit lol. Curious if the hoses come with for the upgrade to 1.5. I'll email them.

I think that is in reference to the core tubes not the inlet outlet necks. But I may be wrong.

I think you're right. Multitasking with work at the moment so my focus isn't dialed in.

Guess all we can say is thank-you covid, aarrgghh, lol.Apparently the 24" version works okay, but might be a bit of a stretch to reach on a lifted truck.

Quick search I actually found another radiator. When the he'll did they start paying attention and actually make direct replacement performance radiators? There was nothing a few years ago... I go dormant on the forum for a couple of years and there's all sorts of goodies now lol.

That cold case is taller, longer, and twice as wide. Half the price plus comes with tubes, hoses, and Trans cooler fittings. Looks good to me at that price. Especially since the upper radiator hose is in short supply.

My thoughts exactly. Already have to climb on my tire to clean my windshield at gas stations and I'm 6'1" lol.

You list a 320A alternator. If that's an upgrade from a lower amperage one you should upgrade the wiring and fuses to accommodate the new one.

Damn. Nice find. It’s half the price. I’m wondering which one would be better since the one you posted doesn’t give the full specs for tube size and fluid capacity

Yup, great call out. I already have the big3 upgrade. I've had to dial down the sound system at night, time to upgrade lol.

Looked directly at the cold case site. The dimensions are actually the same as the Wizard Cooling unit and cold case tubes are 1". Emails sent to both for fluid capacity. For half the price, I think I'll stick with the 1 inch. Radiator was $40 more expensive on the cold case site. They also offer a fancy billet cap for $25 lol.

Yea. 1” should be plenty enough. I’ll wait for you to give a review on whichever you purchase before I buy mine. Been holding off on buying one for a while because the one I posted was a little to rich for my wallet for something that I didn’t absolutely need. If the cold case one comes back good at it’s price I think it’ll be more within my price range to purchase.

Sounds good. Just pulled the trigger from American trucks. They had the best price, no tax, plus free two day shipping. Could have select 1 day shipping for $18 too. I'll post some pics next week as it'll be here Friday, but I won't.

I got on a live chat with cold case. Asked them the fluid capacity... "probably about 2 gallons" was the response lol
