I am still somewhat of a newbie when it comes to diesel trucks and i have a 06 quad cab auto. I have a 6" tip on it with a 5" straight pipe, and i was just curious if an 8" tip would make it very much louder? Or not make much of a difference? Random but just curious question.

my friend fabbed up his own tip on his murdered out lifted cummins, it was like what you have, straight piped and a 5.9. and it sounded like a jet with the new tip, and it was absolutely beautiful.

Was that the 6" tip or 8"? Rolled or no?

An 8" tip isn't going to make it louder, but it'll probably look pretty funny.
You can always dump it behind the cab.

Truckless...
It won't make it any different, at least very noticeable. And like said above, I think the bigger tips don't look very good at all on the trucks.

If you want it even louder, the only real thing you could do more than a straightpipe is what NWRQC said, and dump it so you are getting an echo as well
