Had to stop at me local Stealership. They mentioned, theres a new software update for my transmission(for a fee of course). Is this something I can do myself or better left to professionals? TIA

It's a computer flash, doubt you can do it yourself. Imho, if your trans is acting fine , skip it.

I've had 3 different dealers service my Ram since buying it (new) in 2015, they all did software updates as an included service when buying oil changes.

The only way you could do a software flash would be if you had the WiTech software installed on your laptop and a VCI Pod or a MicroPod-2 and then you would need a dealerconnect.com login like mine.

The other way would be a subscription to Tech Authority and you would still need some equipped to do it.

There are alot of dealers who will do the software updates for their customers while they are in for regular service/maintenance. Most dealerships charge an 0.5hrs - 1.0hrs worth of labor to perform the flash update.

There are some updates that are covered under the 8/80 emissions warranty too. I would ask the dealer to run the Labor Op to see if there is any type of warranty coverage for you.

Agree with above ... With transmissions, unless there is an issue, let sleeping dogs lie ...
