So i just ordered my exhaust (mufflex) and I'm looking into swapping my TB for one of Moe's 87mm ported TB.
Just wanted to know if there's noticeable gains with it put in?
I do plan on having full bolt-ons eventually so I figured this would be the best one for my truck.

i recommend it... very noticeable throttle response difference with the 87MM vs stock

I think it's a wise investment as part of a full bolt-on setup like you plan, but with caveats.
-IMO you need to port match the TB to the intake manifold otherwise it's feeding a constriction
-"Noticeable gains" based on a single mod- what noticeable gain are you looking for?
-PTB will help only at WOT. This is something I did not see mentioned anywhere until weeks after I had mine. Maybe you already know that, I didn't.
Many here claim improved throttle response, and even power gains. I noticed nothing with another brand of 87mm PTB until I port matched, knife-edged and polished it. And even then it's much more noticeable when towing than empty.
It costs half as much as a tuner which is generally agreed WILL show noticeable gains... Just one man's opinion.

I'm with Audio... Just a TB alone isn't going to be a HANG ON FOR DEAR LIFE mod, but it would help some. When I did mine on the G8 I went all out and put on a completely modified intake plenum. I felt a HUGE difference. I am tuned also which I recommend if you're planning on packing in more air.

Thanks bud. I don't mean to sound like a downer, an certainly not regarding Moe's PTB. I have never owned a truck, anything with a V8 nor upgraded a TB before and I felt disappointed. People need to be realistic of what to expect, as well as what they can do themselves to maximize their gains.
I can't figure out why vendors wouldn't encourage you to match the diameter of the intake manifold to that of the new, larger TB diameter?
Knife edging can be tricky and you could screw up the plate, but polishing is nearly free and impossible to screw up. Just saying for those of you with gnarly machining marks on the inside of their TB's...

I just tossed the Vararam and 87 mm TB on yesterday. Granted, Ive only 20-25 mins of driving time on it since just to get a feel for it.

I didn't notice anything, with EITHER of them actually. Maybe its just me. Maybe it was the computer 're-learning". I didn't port match the plenum for the intake or anything fancy, checked out the TB made sure it would work and slapped it on. Didn't polish, didn't port match, just made sure it screwed on nice and tight and stayed there.

As for power, I couldn't tell. Maybe gas pedal pressure was lighter than usual to maintain a minimum speed? My mileage stayed the same (for a whopping 40 km drive). I don't know if I can feel any discernible difference after the CAI or TB. Maybe its just me, but I don't even feel the placebo effect yet. I noticed my ECO mode would stay on past 120km/hr on the freeway, but that could have been a tailwind helping out for that.

I dunno, wasn't expecting much, maybe more noise from the CAI, but I didn't even hear that.

We'll see how they help the headers and tune coming soon. THEN maybe ill feel something, but wont be able to attribute that power to the cai or tb then Im guessing.

Good news is I haven't had a CEL yet.
