I ordered a yukon yesterday for the 9.25zf axle. I'll have it installed in 2 weeks. Hopefully if fixes my one wheel peel and doesnt have any issues
Where did you buy it at, and how much was it, and is it a complete kit...? I`m looking into a new anti-spin diff myself.
I have the open gear diff right now in my 18 sport. My last sport (2014) had OEM anti-spin, i definitely want to dump the open gear diff in my 18.

You might want to do some research on that Yukon,Matt at Moes has quit selling them, because they seem to have a tendenancy of grenading,i think Matt recommends the OEM limited slip these days if your budget can't swing the Detriot True Trac swap.

I dont think them make the DTT for the zf axle. I talked to Matt a while back ago and he didnt know much about yukons. I dont remember seeing them sold on moes website. He may know more now since I last talked to him. Maybe you are thinking of the auburn zf lsd. He doesnt sell that anymore

2) rebuild again with the following parts
YG C9.25-456 - Yukon gear set
AK 6410 axle bearings and seals
913A368 Eaton Detroit Trutrac
Master kit with Koyo or Timken bearings.

Sorry to be reading this but after getting through the first bit I smiled because you listed the EXACT shopping list that I had in my head that a friend just did with his truck. You won't regret the Yukons with the Trutrac. After he let me drive his I immediately want to do that if my rear diff ever goes. Those parts are tried and true in more than just the Dodge/RAM worlds and I've had the combo on my Rubicon Toy. The only (excessive) suggestion I may have is consider getting the ring gear cryo'd.

Dumb question, why not just get the factory MOPAR one? Mine's been fun so far, but that could also be because I am **** as hell w/ my maintenance and had my Anti-Slip fluid changed out around 25-30,000mi and will do it again at 55-60000mi. Heck, I even had them do the transfer case.

  • What part number you got b/c goes to verify a part number for Mr. Smiles ;) Give me a bit. May not have a real answer 'til Monday. I [think] it's still the 913A368 but haven't seen it in me leetle handses. I get another number but it's a redundancy.

I hope you are mistaken as it’s what I want and I’m less than a year from wanting it. My last cars and trucks have all been Torsen and I dont want to go back to clutch

In order to run the DTT you have to buy a axle for the older stlye diff as well I just cant remember which one.
If you do a search on here it should come up.
TT is the way to go imo.

I've got 2 seasons of drag racing on drag radials on my Detriot True Trac with no issues. With the OEM limited slip I was lucky to get a 1/2 season out of them, before the clutches were *****'d ,the dealer warrentied it twice for me,lol. If your budget can swing the expense, the True Trac is the way to go in my opinion

Check with Matt at Moes,at one point he said he was going to put together a True Trac package, whether he has i'm not sure, but if nothing else he knows what you'll need to do the swap.

Eaton Detroit Tru Trac will be here Thursday.
All other parts will be here tomorrow.

I spent about $950 on
Axle seals and bearings - order these as bearing and seal instead of the kit much cheaper. I did Timken here.
RTF - did the differential specific permatex
Yukon gears
Tru trac
Master kit was on another order spent $75 on open box with Koyo bearings.

He started working on it yesterday when he opened up the gears from Amazon they were used! So I had to order another set from Summit and overnight to ND from Texas. It was only $40 shipping and the gears are in and setup. Only thing left is to replace parking break pivots they were rusted to hell. So he is replacing them along with shoes, pads, and rotors in the rear.

Living in MN for 5 years rusted up my truck badly as they use a ton of salt and chemicals. The parking break seized on and then wore the shoes down to nothing. Had to replace one of the cables as well.

Well got it back today. The brakes are good and the parking work is working nice.

The rear end whines still and I am at a loss. I don’t know if it is for sure the rear but I am pretty sure because when I decelerate not gas it is okay most of the time but when I am accelerating especially up a hill it is whining. I am almost certain this is gears but not sure how it could sound the same after all new everything back there unless the gear set is bad which I doubt or the setup is wrong again I doubt. Anything else back there that could cause that? U joints? I don’t know going to have a couple mechanics look at it and tell me what they think. I am about ready to send it down the river.

Damn man ...whining under acceleration could be too tight of a backlash setting . Just a few thousandths of an inch makes a big difference in gear lash .

I had bad luck with Yukon gears in my zf 9.25. Specifically the 3.90 ratio, not sure if the other ratios have the same problem or not.

They are a 3.90 ratio and not 3.92 ratio, there is a difference. The pinion on the Yukon’s was way smaller than pinion on my nitro gears. Check the tooth count.....

Garbage

First set I ordered on amazon and they had marking compound. The box says assembled in USA.

Second set was from summit also came with compound on them and this set was from China. We don’t know if they are seconds or what the hell.

My mechanic says he installed Yukon at the Chevy dealer for a few years because they issues with oem and the Yukon’s were great.

He ordered new set from his supplier and is going to install them as a courtesy because he wants me to be happy and he says those gears setup ****** from the start and he didn’t like them from the get go.

So next I’ll have to deal with summit on the return of the second crappy set.

When he did my last set a year ago they were G2 and sounded great no whine until the carrier blew out.
