Hi everyone. Long time lurker here.

My wife and I went on a trip from PHX to the Grand Canyon. We set up camp upon our arrival. We were busy and I was moving the truck around but after about a half hour I heard a rhythmic beeping coming from my truck. At first I thought I was crazy but I popped the hood and it was a sort of like part horn, part beep, part squeal coming from the compressor. It made the noise about every 10 seconds but some times as little as 3 seconds. I eventually moved my truck far enough away from my tent area where it didn't bother me. It lasted for at least 45 minutes.

My A/C works great nonetheless--I mean really really good. I live in PHX so it had better. I visited the dealer to take care of the tailgate and cc recalls and mentioned the A/C squeal and the reply I got was, "we can't replicate it, so we can't fix it" which is pretty reasonable. Has anyone else heard of such a thing?

TBH I pulled all Climate Control fuses and nothing stopped the noise. I don't know much about vehicles or A/C compressors but I wonder if some excess pressure in tandem with the sizable elevation increase has anything to do with it?

I highly doubt it had anything to do with high refrigerant pressure or altitude unless maybe the truck was running. If it was, I doubt the AC would work.

The truck was definitely not running. That, I can assure you.
