Son has a 2018 2500 and said his AC isn't very cold. He recently had his cabin filter replaced but he said he hit a bump and white dust/powder came out his vents?

For the cold, is he on recirculate? For the white powder, hope that he can convince the officer that it is not his white powder.

Maybe filter had residual residue from cutting and it did not all get out of filter. Take out the cabin filter and blow it with air.

He had it changed at a Jiffy Lube when they did his oil. No idea what setting it was on but I have the same truck and rarely ever need to use the recirculate. He is on his job site about 5 hours from home and puts about 50,000 miles a year on it and is never home so runs to a Jiffy Lube on Sundays for oil changes, etc

I’m not aware if 2018 vehicles use a different kind of refrigerant, but i have a 4.7L from 2013 that hasn’t been recharged in those 8 years and it still blows cold with 501K on her.

Check the compressor for leaks, use a UV dye in the system and then a ultraviolet light to look around the condenser, A/C hi/lo lines etc.

White power is probably truck cocaine. Otherwise known as dust.

That’s a very true possibility, the truck sucking up dust from rocks, etc, and then when he goes over a bump all that dust dislodges itself and shoots through the vents.

If that is the case the filter is not doing its job to well and means all the dust is getting to a Damp evaporator which then can cut down on cooling

He said he pulled his filter thinking they may have lied about replacing it but he said it looked new
