Spring is hopefully around the corner. The truck will be due for a full detail. What do you white truck guys use to make 'em POP? I know about clay barring & surface prep, but what is that final product?
Second. I'm thinking of going with some black wheels. Any suggestions? Think I might plasti dip 1st to see if I really like the zero chrome look.

Wax and sealant don't make them shine. They protect. Polish is key to a shine.

I could go into a huge diatribe about it, but I won't. Needless to say, the more you put in it, the more you get out. That goes with the amount you spend on a product. You get what you pay for.

A good cleaner polish before a sealant or wax is key.

It says "white owners" and if Dave was thinking what I was thinking then I see the confusion, I thought you meant like slavery lol

I haven't really had any white cars...only like 3 black cars in a row... this is my first white one and I think I might stick to my guns... Good wash, clay bar, and then mother's carnauba

I'm a huge chemical guys user. To me, it's the best stuff in the world! Jetseal 109 is my favorite. It last almost a year in the heat and humidity of Louisiana. Two coats and your done!!!

I use it on all my vehicles, including my black Ram, my wife's Camaro, and both bikes!

For a single stage, personally I would use V36 polish, followed with EZ Creme glaze to really make the white pop, then follow it with Jetseal 109. After that, I would choose a wax to apply, most likely 5050 concourse wax all from Chemical Guys. This combination works really well with the color white and Jetseal seals everything underneath the wax. The seal typically lasts anywhere from 9-12 months depending on how well you take care of your vehicles paint.

I had a white Mitsubishi Evo before I got my Ram. My paint was flawless all 7 years I owned the car.

As other have said a good polish is key. Each spring I would high speed cut, buff, and polish. The process is time consuming but the result is amazing. Meguires makes some pretty good 3 stage cut, buff, and polish compounds. Then follow up with a full carnuba wax. The color will gleam better than new.

This spring I will do the same process on my Black Ram. She will look like a mirror when I am done.

After a good wash and clay but before the final wax/synthetic final coat, NOTHING holds a candle to Meg's #7 Show Car Glaze.
Quite honestly it's a horrendous pain in the ass to work with but I use it esp. on white vehicles because it makes them POP. It's something in between a deep carnuba glow and the plasticky shine of a synthetic polish like Zaino.

Everyone has their own "special" polish, sealant and/or wax they use and they all swear they are the best, fastest, eaisest, cheapest and longest lasting. It's just like asking what kind of ice cream or beer you like the best. You might want to go to a site called autopia.org. and look around. This is a world wide professional detailers site where they talk about the products they use, why they use them and then show examples of their work. You can ask questions about different products and listen to their responses. I think it will give you not only a better understanding of the large number of products out there it will also give you and idea of which product is best suited to your needs. Many of the products they use are pretty reasonably priced although you may have to buy some of them on line.

if you aren't going to polish.
wash
clay
re-wash mildly to remove any left over clay residue, however don't use any soaps with fillers( wax soaps, etc.)
glaze
seal or wax , or both

I just picked up a bottle of Meguires ultimate polish. Came highly recommended, and a can of Finish Kare 1000P as a sealant. Waiting on weather to warm and dry!

That being said- I clayed my truck then sealed w/Meg's Gold Class paste carnuba a couple weeks back to get me by. My first time to clay a vehicle. Eye-opening! Finish looked good before, excellent after.

Sorry guys I forgot about this post until now. Here's what I did-Megs claybar. Was surprised at how much crap was on the tailgate @ less than 5k miles, megs new white polish, sealed with 845. And then it freakin snowed on the way home just enough to wet the roads! Looked really sharp in the shop & got that "pop" I was looking for.
