I knew (had a feeling) my ac compressor (oil residue on the compressor) was going i kept an eye on my freon and had to add some ocassionaly (once a year) took it to the dealer said my condenser under the dash is leaking $3k estimate said thank you and drove it for another year till it died yesterday.
Seems like the fan clutch is going (notice it seemed hot recently when i get out of my truck and now on Florida summer might not help) and my ac compressor clutch is puking out its rubbers/grease didnt mess with it much i have part on order to replace.
But this all being said i been doing research that we have an electric fan that kicks on with the ac (havent checked on if its working or not yet) would the electric fan not working on kill my compressor and my fan clutch not engaging?
I dont see any oil residue inside my cab under the dash from what i can see

Definitely doesn't help the life. It's what pulls the heat out of the refrigerant. Just like the big fan outside ur home ac. Wherever there is an oily mess is where the problem is. If the clutch is bad it's usually more cost effective to replace the whole unit from what I have seen.
