Any one here use fuel/oil additives, goods ,bads. Just wondering, I use Lucas upper cylinder lube in the fuel tank every other fill up, and oil, I run mobil 1 full synthetic and in 5k miles il loose almost a qt by the 4k mark so for the last thousand I use marvel mystery oil, Dad always did for as long as I can remember, And I've always done it. 90k on the hemi. And no fuel/oil related issues

Additives can be both good AND bad. If you are losing a quart of oil by the 4K mark after each change, you might consider going back to a conventional or synthetic blend or find out where you are losing the oil. Synthetics tend to "hunt" leaks where conventionals dont. The thing about oil additives is your oil is formulated from the manufacturer to live up to it's specs with the additives the manufacturer blended into them. With that being said, adding outside additives can "throw off" the blend from the manufacturer and cause the oil to not do it's job properly. If you are using a well blended oil, like you are (Mobil1) than you have no reason what so ever to add those outside additives, unless your engine is heavily worn. Additives are more beneficial when used in conjunction with single viscosity oils (SAE 40, SAE30, SAE50) since those oils are blended with VERY little additives and no detergents.

I don't believe in using additives. Mobil 1 has been my choice in oil for a long time and I use it in everything I own.

Nor do I, I do use Berrymans B-12 Chemtool in my fuel at every oil change. For oil I just use Castrol GTX 10W30. My 96 is pushing almost 17 MPG today.
