I was debating on doing 3.5 in out straight through magnaflow and then dump it right after the exhaust. Not sure if it would of fit and of course you need to be careful with wiring. I ended up getting magnaflow direct fit kit. I can downturn the exhaust on a dime if I so choose.

So far I like the sound. I might cut off the old exhaust at the first bend to turn it down.
No drone.

Removing the resonator I can also remove the heat shield and I see that I have 3” from the spare tire to the track bar, if I want to get a bigger spare tire.

unless they changed something on the ‘19 down there, there is no way in hell you can fit anything over a 35.

Let’s compare. I will take a measurement from the track bar to the hitch and you will have to measure the same. Then we will know. Otherwise I have no clue.

On a 2019 PW a 36” tire will fit above the track bar if you stay stock width. If you go 12.5 then an air down 35” tire is the best you can do. I have no idea if it is different in the 17&18

So far I still like the resonator removed. I dove 100 miles since I have removed it. Plus I can hear my truck start up from afar when I remote start. I normally have to look for the lights.

Holy cow you took out both the resonator and muffler! I only took out the muffler.

is it loud?
Did you put a turndown pipe?

I left the pipe as is before the muffle, no down pipe.

It's unbearably loud. Reinstalled the muffler after 1 ride lol!
It sounds harsh and raspy, not good at all.

I'm running with the resonator removed and like the sound. Little more rumble.
A little drone around 2000rpm but very light.
Keeping it like that until muffler replacement next year ( if )

Trailmaker, did you remove the rear pipe only ( resonator ) like this pic?

Yes sir, I took only the resonator off only. The piece you have here. Sorry if I said muffler earlier. I did upload a picture with the muffler still on so I don’t feel to bad. I will edit my previous post to resonator. The solo delete takes the muffler out and replaced it with pipe. But I was not sure I wanted it that load. ( I’m getting old) I’m going to cut off the pipe right after the first bend from the muffler pipe I took off and put it back on as a down pipe.
It is not much louder at all but perfect for me. No drone.

I cut it off giving about 16” in length and turned it down. I love the sound. No turning back now.

Stupid question. Is the clamp that holds the resonator and tube to the muffler welded?

I installed the new magnaflow muffler and I couldn't get that clamp to slide off. So I ended up reusing it but now I have an ehaust leak at that connections.

Yes it is spot welded. It is a 3” deep coupling, so maybe a rubber mallet and some love, to get it back on all the way.

I'm going have to recruit some help getting that resonator piping fully seated. It wont budge anymore with just me laying on the ground shaking it and pushing it together. I'll either have to grind the weld off or take a chisel and pop it. ****** party is, I believe the take is on the top side of the pipe. Removing exhaust without the proper pry bars and tools kinda sucks.

you can use 2 ratcheting straps to pull it in tighter.
Yes pry bars are very handy when pulling the resonator off.

Well I ordered the aFe catback yesterday with a very healthy black friday discount. So long as I don't fire the engine the system can be returned within 30 days if it doesn't fit my '19.

Alright! I hope it fits. I love the dyno on it. I am afraid the sound will be overbearing on the long trips, pulling a trailer or whellin’ like @22hemi13 said his issue was. Upload a sound clip when you get it installed because I am intrigued.

The can looks longer to me than the Solo so hoping that will quell any drone. Volume wise, the louder the prouder I say. I had Borla Atak systems on a Rebel and a Challenger SRT8. Both were really loud but neither had drone.
