Continuing on from what I posted before about the radiator replaced and a misfire code. I've been trying get this air out of the system. I suspect that the head gasket is the issue. But, i'm not getting any overheating issues, I'm not getting any white smoke out of the tail pipe. No other signs that it s a head gasket. I'm going to do a block test tomorrow after work to make sure.
I am having a serious bearing squeal or whistle though. I pulled the belt and spun the idler and tensioner pulleys and the idler was loud in my hand so I replaced it. Put it all back together and its still making the squeal. Seems to go away though after the truck run for a few moments. I'm really thinking the pump is shot. Its not leaking but it seems the bearing noise is coming from there, and the sound goes away when it starts moving some water. Will a water pump with the impeller wiped out cause cavitation in the system. With the cap off I don't see much flow of coolant like I remember seeing in an older truck. Pulled each of the heater noses of to see how much would come out of each of those(don't know which one is suction) and its still not a lot, it just flows out.
