I have a 2013 ram 1500 SLT 2wd (4.6L). I've been wanting to do some small upgrades to it but I'm having trouble finding aftermarket parts for it that are non-hemi. Can anyone recommend a cold air intake that would work for this application and is fairly inexpensive?

See other threads. The ECM will not allow any intake or air filter to produce more power. At most you will get a different sound, some like the extra whoosh noise. Further, oil based filters are proven to let more dirt into your engine.

I'd like to see proof on all these points.

While not specific to the 4.7 platform, CAI's have been proven to offer minimal performance gains. I do agree that many are noise makers. One of the most effective I've seen is the "true cold air intake" offered by LMI for the Challengers. Also, headlight varieties exist, but are mainly for track use.

While CAI's don't get me all excited, having a good one is logical when your mod list starts growing and your engine needs more airflow.

Just makes me wonder if you actually know what a CAI actually does. Yes a cotton oiled filter does allow more particulates to enter the engine but you can't have your cake and eat it too. Do you want air flow or restriction with a paper filter.

I had a 2002 4.7l. I did a stock k&n and a high flow catback system...got a mean sound from it and a hair more power..
