I was quoted a similar price to fix that system in a Jeep GC air equipped. I hated the aero BS going down or not been able to hold max height without having a POS harsh ride. I'm sure for those who need a bone stock rig for couple of years on a lease the idea sounds amazing. You can get the full Carli King setup on your RAM 1500 for less than what the factory wants to fix that stuff..... Lol sorry for the rant. reading about it brought those memories back.
From the people who have done the conversion seems a straight forward upgrade.
I remember reading somebody here saying this wasn't possible because the dash will be filled with dtc's ? These dudes from rebel.org doesn't appear to side with that notion, and as far as what's needed with the electronics, seems it couldn't get any easier....
I'll try to condense as much as i can from what i read on this thread, but remember i don't have the air chit so you must validate yourself
Couple of dudes did the conversion with the Rancho QL setup, somebobody else did it with 5100's. You bet you can use whatever you want including real coilovers.

All have the same thing to say: Truck rides better without the air ride chit.
thread started Dec 6 2018 with the dude that did the Rancho QL setup , same dude post Jan 2020 so the setup is still working for him.
From post# 91, but i recommend to read the entire thread. Post #91 is the dude that did 5100 who consulted with the OP on the thread, and it seems between both they did the all the hard leg work of what needed to run without the air setup:
"Ok guys so here is an update.
For anyone who has done this mode. Make sure you DO NOT remove fuse F87 10A. This also controls your trailer brake module. I also reinstalled the air suspension relay K3 in the fuse box.
I’ve purchased AlfaOBD and am running Windows 10. Works like a charm. Once you have it running follow these steps.
Go into body control module (BCM) > active diagnostics > car configuration change > P/T Chassis Net-ASCM Air Suspension Control Module (change to: Not Enabled)
Once these steps are done you will no longer see the warning each time you start the truck.
All this credit goes to Vshni for helping me through all of this.
So just a quick recap. You only need to remove the F05 (40A Fuse) and F50 (20A) for the air suspension. So far nothing else has been affected."
Then post#92
"Also the dealer is unable to remove the air suspension code by adding SE8. I had a friend search through the sales codes available and it was not on the list. So it looks like AlfaOBD is the only option."

I never removed the compressor. I only pulled the 40A and 20A. Try that first.

"Sorry for the questions, but I cannot seem to get anyone to even consider swapping out the air suspension. One shop mentioned that removing the system would put the truck into "limp" mode and it would never function correctly. Another shop said they would do the work but will not make any modification as far as welding, drilling and also would not take any responsibility if errors occur. I believe you mention that your Rebel is a 2017. Do you know if the parts list for the 2018 would be the exact same?
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated."

"It's all a direct fit no modifications needed it wont put the truck into limp mode I drove around for months after removing it before I ordered the stuff to remove the error code if you dont mind the 1 warning ding everytime you start the truck you dont even have to remove the error code"
So, i'll dump that POS system as fast i could say Get it done.... Lol
